FAVORITE COMPANY.....NEW SCHEDULER......NO BUSINESS!

What a huge disappointment! I have been signing for one of the major title companies over this past year and have received a good volume of work from them....an average of 25-30 loan closings per month. Everything was going great and then the scheduler who had been calling me transferred to another department and now for the month of August I received a total of 4 closings from them.....and not a single one for EOM week. Yikes! What could have possibly happened? This company was a huge part of my income and to have it end so abruptly is devastating. I was an underwriter for one of the major banks and when my contract ended I went directly to signing with this company. I have only recently signed up with other title companies because I love doing this so much. Has this ever happend to anyone else.......and what would you suggest that I do? Thank you so very much for any advice you can give me.

You might try calling and speaking to the former scheduler. The "new" one may be using a different method or may already have someone else in your area that they use a lot. If so, maybe the old scheduler can help out.

Good luck.

yes it happend to me with banc sevr and some other company I cant recall, I was doing 20-25 per month for banc serv in Humboldt county back in 2002. then they were paying me 50 for the signings. I got a call one day and they asked me if I would be willing to do signings for 35 dollars since they gave me a lot of business. I agreed because of the volume of business. 3 weeks later they offered me 25.00 per signing and I said no, they told me they found a notary who would close for 25 dollars. I thought they were bluffing so I called their bluff and I never heard back from them. 3 months later then it was 2003, I called them and they said they had 2 notaries willing to work for 25 dollars a signing. the same thing happend to me with another company but I cant recall who they were. I also talked with other humboldt notaries and they told me banc serv and other companies did the same thing to them.
Some of these high volume companies will hire a notary for a while then shop around to find a competitor who would do it for less, and if your willing to work for 35 dollars, they will find a notary to do it for 25 dollars, this is what bancserv told me and some other notaries back in 03. They found 2 who were willing to do it for 25 dollars. Im not saying this happend to you, but they may have found someone in your area who will do it for less money. I would call them and ask whats going on.

Joeycaps

I have been doing signings in Humboldt since 2002, and never took a regular signing job for less than $50.00. I think B.S. was B.S.ing you.

Personally, I don't usually leave the house for less than $100 per signing - If they can't afford me, they can deal with the mistakes the el-cheapos make Smile

I get $50+ for a two or three page modification agreement w/i 5 miles... and even in 2002 I never worked for less than $75 per, even when it was in their office...

Yesterday, a TC offered me $25 for a signing job that was 86 miles away. Really? $25??? They said it was only 10 pages or so. Yeah. Right. 10 pages + BO's copy. At least 10 gallons fuel usage for the 176 mile, round-trip, at $3.50 per gallon. I told them to put me on their Do Not Call list. Sadly, this trend of reducing OUR pay in order to "enhance" THEIR competitiveness will only continue. And, you can bet that there is some newbie (read "MORON") out there who will unwittingly accept a job for $20, or even less. As long as such newbies exist, there will NEVER be a common consensus among NSA's to reject such low-ball offers en masse. Thus, low-ball offers are here to stay, effectively destroying the once-lucrative NSA business. : (

You’ve getting 30 a month!? I send them a $200 plus fruit/gift basket and tell them you really miss their business and would very much like to continue working with them. JMO

I've had that happen to me four times now in five years. 16+ a month for 18 months then bam! Now I treat each as if it's the last time I'll hear from them, do the job, get paid. "Independent Contractor"!

That would be 4-6 signings; actually more if one allows for the taxes.

I'm really shocked that any of you are accepting $50 fees, (and okay with that) and then you're also accepting $35 fees! Why wouldn't they use you.....you cannot be making any money.

Good golly.....at that price, the title company/lender is MAKING money on you! Don't do it anymore. Not to mention, you guys are REALLY bringing down our industry.

If you want to give, please go help a registered charity. Last time I looked, the lender and title companies are profit generated businesses. All you're doing is helping their bottom line and ruining it for the rest of us. Sorry for the harsh words, but $50 is horrible, and $35 is absolutely absurd.

I agree…I’m happy to sign a loan mod for $50 (one page notarization) within 5 miles of my location. You can get that done with your other errands!

Next time you have a CPA or a plumber complete a job for you, ask if they will accept $35. NO!

I agree with you Les. What's $200 plus a gift basket

compared to 30 signing a month. I have a LO that gives me the business when he does business with the TCs. Luckily for me, I am an approved vendor for most of TCs in my service area.

$25 a signing, per 30 signings is only $750.00, and you would send them a fruit basket for $200.00? Sorry I am worth more than $750 dollars for that many signings, that barely covers the cost of fuel, let alone paper, ink and my time! and No basket, those fees are an insult to this industry!

Why are ya'll encouraging Joeycaps? Ignore, ignore, ignore

IMO-He's a SS trying to lower peoples expectations, along with the integrity of the business.

Don't respond and hopefully, maybe someday, he'll go away and shut up with his bogus B.S.!
