Re: Fake IDs. OOPS, Sorry
The website was published in the Tribune, so no guilt in posting it here.

Imagine that they are not buying these to sign fraudulent dox before a NP, but the appearance of the IDs is VERY authentic looking. Somehing for a NP to keep in mind.

What a racket!!
I just looked at their website, and they are making IDs for every state, passports, company security cards, child ID tags and basically whatever you need to do your unlawful business. VERY upsetting. This is not just for underage drinking.

Black light detection
I had a black light keychain that I was using to check ID (until it broke). The old California DL has the California Flag in it, and the new California ID has the person's portrait in it. These can be detected with a black light, the way the airlines check.

Same here
Is there such a thing as a person who didn't consume alcohol before turning 21?

Re: They don't make IDs for Florida - hallelujah
You mean this site? Because FL does.
I couldn't get far in their menu - they didn't have security certificates Kaspersky wanted or something.....well, it is nice to know that the FL people won't be presenting them to me.

That story was also carried in the NY Times the other day, I think. What's scarey about this is that even the "experts" - cops and bouncers, who deal with these IDs a lot more frequently than we ever would - are having a hard time telling these fakes from the real thing.
About a month ago, some group here on LI started distributing scanners to any bar or restaurant that wanted one (apparently, the fakes aren't quite good enough to get by the new scanners). The purchase of the scanners was underwritten by one of the large adult beverage companies - can't remember which one.

Re: I confess
I will confess..I started drinking alchol at about 15! My dad would have 1 beer or a glass of wine at dinner and I could join him..And I did and liked it..Still do wine is my choice and Im having some now! In NY at the time I grew up we could by alchol at 18. I have older brothers who would buy it for us too!
No lying! lol

Re: I confess
I moved to Germany when I was 15. If you could hold a bottle or glass, you could drink. I did. I really learned too how to get drunk, how to be very sick, how to learn when to quit. That last was a hard lesson - LOL

Re: I confess
I spent my 21st birthday in Madrid at a place we would call a bar (they called it a disco because there was music and dancing), drinking orange sodas with my Spanish boy friend and some other friends. I was trying to explain to them why, if I was back home in the USA, that I would probably have been going out to get drunk. I just got a bunch of blank stares. There was no drinking age there, either, so it was no big deal. They thought we were nuts.
