Florida does need 2 witness's on change of ownership of property. One of those witness's can be the notary. Most times the realtor or banker acts as the 2nd witness in my closings.
The Wisconsin law doesn't make much sense to me, how do you ever meet that criteria?

Dick Does not need "credible witness" - credible witnesses are when one needs to establish signers identity when they don't have ID card.
Just needs two witnesses to signers signature - you can be one of them - and make sure witnesses print their name under their signature line.

"wisconsin requires that a cred witness be know to both the borrower and the notary..." Credible witness requirements only pertain to identifying a signer who has no ID.
What you need are just 2 witnesses to sign the mortgage.

Florida does not require witnesses on the mortgage
unless the property is located in Dixie County and, new to me info, Suwannee County. Suwannee County recorder will accept mortgage with no witnesses for recording, but with the caveat that "if anything goes wrong we're not liable"....
No witnesses on mortgages; only deeds of conveyance. And yes, CW's don't even apply here - two different things.

Sorry, also meant to say witnesses not required on
mortgages unless a lender requirement.
