Ink pad dilemma

Went to order t-print pads only to discover they're are now all inkless (and much more expensive!). Is this the way to go? Is ink so '90s? Am I a notary dinosaur? (I pride myself on all the nifty "ink clean-up wipes" I find at specialty shops. The last ones I got were lime green with white polka dots. Cuuuute. Borrowers always comment on them - actually, they probably think I'm an eccentric idiot.) Anyway.... how do the the inkless pads work and do they last as long as the others?

I've had one in my briefcase for maybe 7-8 years now. Used once for a CA Deed. Other than that, I've never used it and it's only there because I found it 4/$1 in an odd lot store. It still works just fine. As to how long it will last if you actually use it-- I dunno.

I've been using an inkless touch pad for as long as my others have lasted. They are nice, but sometimes (on very dry skin) it does leave a little color. That's where your classy little wipes would come in so handy, so don't worry you can still buy them if you want to. Here where I am, I just tell them to wipe it on their jeans! LOL

I've been using inkless thumbprint pads for 11 years and I'm very happy with them. I've never used any others. I hold it in my hand when the signer squeezes it between their thumb and fingers and then I close it right away (to keep from drying out), so mine have lasted me for several years each, as best I can remember. (I buy them from here and always have a spare on hand, just in case.)

Borrowers comment on it all the time because they think it's going to leave ink on their fingers, but it jumps rubs right off. You do have to have them apply the "ink" for each impression, however.
