Long term notary

I have been a SA for a little over 3 years when the interest rates have been relatively low. For those notaries who have been SA for years, what do you do when the interest rates are high? Is there much notary work to do?

1993 to 1997/8.... maybe a dozen a year in low volume area... 1 or 2 per company. Rates at that time were in the 7 to 10% bracket, if memory serves.

I have been a signing agent for almost 10 years. It does get slow, however, if you are in with a good lender or agent, you will still have some work. I have another part time job in the industry, just for that reason. Hope this helps.

Likely plenty of work in your community...

if you choose to pursue it. It's called providing general notary services to the public, and it's that OTHER, often forgotten, notary function outside of loan signings.

Many opportunities in health care facilities, senior centers, and numerous other situations where people will need a mobile notary. Plaster your cards all over town, do a CraigsList ad, get a good website, etc. People WILL need you.
