Mentor anyone?
Would any one in Pa like to mentor me!!!!! If anyone is open to providing their email to answer basic questions for me I would really appreciate it. I had a refi last night and the instructions did not say too much about returning the docs. there is just a UPS # next to the address. Not a tracking number. No clue. Also, when i filled out the invoice online at their website, we agreed on a particular price but there was the option to put in miles and other additional fee's. I don't know if I am able to ask for compensation for mileage, postage, etc after we agreed on the amount or if that is included.
basic but unknown. anyone have patients to help.
Thanks,
t

Whatever fee you agreed to when they booked the job with you is what you should invoice for.
As far as returning the docs, sometimes there is a pre-printed FedEx or UPS shipping label sent to you with the docs. If so, use that.
Other times, there are written instructions for sending the docs back. Either sent to you with the docs or on your confirmation sheet that they sent you when they booked you for the job. There will usually be an address there for return docs and a FedEx or UPS account number. In those cases, you must generate the shipping label yourself either online or with a handwritten airbill. Be sure NOT to choose first AM delivery unless the company specifically requests it (very expensive).

FYI first AM delivery is delivery by 8 AM. For Fedex I send Priority Overnight and for UPS I send regular Next Day Air, those are my defaults unless instructed otherwise.

thanks for the reply. i typically receive a return label. I also just emailed the title company and asked them to assist. The UPS # is useless according to UPS.

Is the real estate business so bad in your area that you need the additional income from mortgage closings?

Be careful sending docs priority overnight. Typically they should be standard overnight unless company instructions tell you otherwise. You may be repremanded for early am deliver. My experience with title companies they don't get in til 10-11 unless it's a big nationwide company.

....also be careful about checking Yes to the
Signature box, they charge $2 dollars extra for that!

Ilene, standard overnight (FedEx) gets deilvered the next business afternoon - is that what you are referring to? UPS has the Next Day Air option which is delivered in the morning by 10:30 AM - FedEx has Priority Overnight by 10:30 AM and Standard Overnight which gets the package there at 1:00 or 1:30 PM. My experience is that if TC does not get package by 11 AM, they are panicking.
