offered through the state?

This is advertising, and she knows it. Not the first time. n/m

Re: This is advertising, and she knows it. Not the first time.

She has done more than 20K signings in 10 years? That's like 6 signings per day for every single day of the year, and if you counting your husband that's still 3 signing per day. I honestly can't believe this. And please stop your advertising it's against the rules or did you get permission from Harry?

Re: This is advertising, and she knows it. Not the first time.

I have to agree with Calnotary... over 20,000 in 10 years means working 7 days a week doing 6 signings a day even on holidays.....I find that very hard to believe... even if her husband came in 6 years ago....maybe she put an extra 0 on that or she is counting how many notarization's she has done in 10 years.

I know. Carol may have so much to offer, yet she violates

rules on NR. Therefore, I can't find a way to endorse her as an instructor. She sends a dual message.

Re: Is this self study course for profit for someone or is this

There is a fee to take the course and the cost is based on an hourly charge. This course is two hours long.

The State of Indiana had to approve the content in order to provide required educational credit for passing the course.

They have very strict guidelines as to content and the issue of security with regard to the final exam was a difficult task. To have been able to overcome the obstacles and provide something really accessable and informative is very exciting. So many courses promise but do not provide and we all know that some are very expensive and worthless.

Seems to me that in this day and age in our biz, state-

specific, State approved for Continuing Ed training would be a welcomed resource.

This "advertising" admonishment can, imho, do more harm to NSAs in this case, where it does not compete with NR - rather, in this case, it enhances reasons for NR to be *the* resource for promoting good training, excellence, and professionalism in our field.

But, that's just me.

Carol, I appreciate your tenacity as a marketer. But...

When you intentionally and continually disregard the rules of this forum to promote your wares, or when you harvest emails and sign people up for your newsletter without their permission as you did with me and with others I've spoken to, it undermines your credibility. You want to position yourself as a leader, mentor, and educator in this industry. I get it. I truly do. But I don't think you're going to get far without the support of other leaders in this industry. I feel the same way Brenda does. I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I'm not a fan of your tactics.

Oh my goodness, nothing ever changes here.

My message was not intended as an advertisement. We have a great company in Indiana who is backing this program and the advertising will be done there. I wanted to let Indiana notaries know that they now have a good online program which will provide both education and the educational credits they need to keep their licenses.

If you see this as an advertisement, then I truly apologize.

In response to the 20K signings. These signings were completed over a period of many years. In my former life I was both an Escrow Officer and Escrow Manager. In those days we did our own signings. Considering all of the years I have been in this business I have probably done way over the 20k I show in my profile.

I think this will probably be my last post on NR. There are too many of you out there who respond negatively to everything and everyone. You make newbies feel badly and you are constantly pumping yourself up by tearing other people down. I don't get on here very often but when I do I see the same people posting constantly. You must not have anything else to do.

For those of you who know me and who call and correspond with me privately, you know where to reach me, and I look forward to our continued friendships.

Are you really going to act like a victim????

I'm sorry, but you've been around a long time. You know that what you're doing is not okay. Especially because it's not the first time.

Please don't apologize to those of us who"see this as an advertisement". Apologize to the forum for breaking the guidelines (that apply to EVERYONE) and subjecting us to unsolicited advertising (speaking for myself!).

Sorry to be a witch, but that really offended me.

Notary Police? This is a forum to discuss business,

it's not a free advertising site. After all, we ARE a captured audience now aren't we? The worst thing is that it feels kind of underhanded to me.

It's obvious advertising to those of us that have been here/in the biz a while, but people new on the site or to the business may not realize that it's being shared as a for profit business and will think it's something provided by the state.

I personally find it manipulating and feel like "don't try to undermine our intelligence." Just sayin...

I note , that Carol did not provide ANY information as to

how anyone could access the service mentioned.
At most , this could be deemed an announcement of a course available that might be of interest to Indiana, (and in the future, Texas) notaries and NSAs.
Did not seem to me to be an advertisement in violation of notrot rules.
I not that the post has not been removed by notrot 5 hours after posting.
I agree, that notrot should NOT be used for advertising, but I do not believe that this post violates the rules.
I do not like Carol thinking that she is being driven off of the board. Her broad knowledge and experience are too valuable to lose.
And yes, some of us have done in excess of 20,000 signings. It was not unusual to have 10 or more a day at one time. Difficult , of course , nowadays due to lower re-fi volume and lack of overnite dox. (The lenders now seem to want to have a firm indication that the loan will be paid back. Hey, what's up with that???) Would have been even easier for Carol, as she worked AT a title company and did not need to travel nor to physically ship the dox herself.
At one time , I was doing several hundred WAMU helocs a year. Overnite dox, and they took maybe 15 minutes per. Also a slew of GMAC re-fis. Also O/N dox and didn't take much longer. Being in an unsaturated urban area helps a lot, of course.
Lighten up, folks.
