Cindy, at the top of the home age, you'll find an orange search button, which is your best friend. You can find info on almost anything by using that. BTW, it's a very good idea to try that before you ask any of your questions. Just keep in mind that the purpose of this forum is for "Professional Notaries Public" to discuss issues related to our business, as stated at the very top of this page, not to be a training ground for people just entering the business. However, there is an abundance of info available here and much to be learned. (And if you haven't already, it's a good idea to read the "Rules and Guidelines". Link above, also.)

Also, you'll get much more help and better responses if you do your homework first and try to find your own answers. If you don't, you probably won't like the response you get... Wink Best of luck

Re: New Notary

Cindy - do not be discouraged. There are many loan document packages that have lists and/or checklists of what documents are contained in the package, and with it, lists of what extra items the lender needs from the borrowers. you can print out an extra for yourself, and black out the personal info. In pre-computer days, we called this a SAMPLE, and then used it as a master to create our own checklist. The previous poster is having a hard time in this industry, as we all are, but they must have forgotten the golden rule - to be a notary is to provide a service. In this forum we are not competitors, we are co-workers. We are all in the same field and owe it to the newbies to be of help. My help above is not a direct document for you to copy - it will make you read the document and make sure every time that all the documents are returned properly. With today's ability to grab and drop text between documents, I am sure you will have fun designing your own checklist. Sometimes I feel it is the preparation of the checklist, and it's various amendments, etc., that help you be organized in keeping the document package together. Some signings can involve "Hold the baby, won't you, and oops! I should have gotten a burp cloth!" Although I am a sucker for that.
