Joey, if you click on the blue Signing Central tab above, you'll see a very long list of signing companies. Your best bet is to begin applying to as many as possible. Just be sure to check out the ratings carefully, as there are some companies with reputations for not paying their notaries - and some known to try to get you to work for peanuts. I also recommend you read as much as possible on this board, going as far back as possible. Try to get a good idea of which posters have credibility here and who you want to listen to, as you find all kinds of advice here - and not all of it is good... There's also a thread (#33325) with lots of great information, although much of it is outdated.

What you probably won't find is people willing to hand over their client lists. However, if you read this forum, you'll learn tons about various companies, good and bad, and you'll learn a great deal about how to grow as a signing agent. Best of luck.

Joey, if you do a "Find a Notary" here, you'll find 12 within a 25-mile radius. The "numbers site" lists 11 (some may be duplicates of these) ... many of which are well-experienced. A difficult time for services to be experimenting with "newbies" when proven and reliable resources are readily available.

As a fifth grade graduate I'm sure you know as well about how to read and to market. We don't do the hiring here - we are a professional notary board/forum where we share information on our daily activities, etc.

You are welcome to read here from archived comments/discussions and you are most welcome to do a bit of searching using the orange search button and get the information you need to get your business up and running. Keeping it simple, do it yourself before asking here. Sharing is a two way street - what are you bringing to the table?

Joey, if you've been a signing agent for 10 years as you

claim, you know how to market to companies doing business in your area - and I'm sure you have a client base to work from to steer work to you in Chico. If not, then I'm not sure what you've been doing for 10 years, but you can start in Signing Central and work your way down the list, just like I did and as many others here have done over the years.

If you've been a signing agent for 10 years you're not a newbie...you know that too..
