Rude Competition
Yesterday I was at a bank branch signing a couple for their refi. The loan officer couldn't be there because he had to attend another signing at a nearby branch. He asked if I might be able to come over and complete the signing because the notary who attended that closing was rude and arrogant and a biotch to the borrowers. WTH is up with that?
Can you imagine how a notary could think this is appropriate? Need less to say, that notary will be banned from that bank's signings going forward. I don't get it. Well, competition, you've just made it possible for me to be the go-to notary for that loan officer.
Two more days and this craziness will slow down a bit. Doing a lot of 10, 15 and 20 year refi's right now, a few REO purchases. Interest rates at an all time low have made a significant surge in this area right now.
Ted is recovering nicely in CCU and I'm leaving Friday night to go spend the weekend with him. One of my signings yesterday was for a couple who work in the cardio department of Cottage Hospital, and they were very supportive and informative about Ted's recovery from triple bypass yesterday...I relaxed a little.

First of all, great news about baby Bro.
This rudeness issue appears to be across the board. I was also in a bank branch and experienced the same,....with a L.O. in another state. We had a problem and she couldn't be reached, number went to VM with the customary, "I'll call you right back" and didn't after 45 mins. When she did, she told a big fat lie because we found out from another source what was up.....the borrower was pixxed. If it was for the closer at the TC, the loan would have not gone thru.

I'm glad to hear that Ted is doing well.
I generally cringe when I hear about people in our industry being rude or acting unseemly to the borrowers. This is so not appropriate, regardless of the circumstances.

The borrowers are paying your fee. They are your true customers, and should be treated as such…always.
