Service Link - Curious.

I am curious as to how Service Link is doing? Are many of you still receiving volume from them? Most the time when companies reduce their fees it is an indication of trouble ahead so I am wondering if they still have the volume they used too. I thought about them the other day and cannot believe how much running around and work people will do for half the fee they could have got if they held their ground. If you do 5 edoc signings at 55.00 each you only get a measly 275.00! Here in CA you would have to do at least 25 signings just to pay an average rent or mortgage. That's a LOT of running around for 1375.00! Even when I was working with them a lot of I was only getting about 8-10 calls a month. On average 7. So I gave up about 375.00 (if I had taken the 55.00). Who accepts this???? =O Sorry..it still bugs the heck out of me how so many agents sold themselves short.

I work for them from time to time; I assume it’s when they can’t anyone else. I think their invoicing/payment rigmarole it total BS…it takes time but they have paid me (so far)
As far as their $55 I just line through it. I charge what I charge (twice $55 and then some) and get it in writing or I don’t go.
Last one I did for them they sent the title affidavits twice..I don’t argue I print what I get how I get it and have it signed/notarized and send it back.
If I was in CA it would have taken more than a page of my journal, and more time than the signing to fill it out. If I was in CA I would charge MORE! JMO

I used to do tons of work with them up until the end of the year. They always met my fee (Usually $100-150 depending on distance and type of closing).

They still call periodically, but not nearly with the same frequency. I closed a loan for them last month, at my regular fee and got payment within just a couple of days.

In my opinion, they are very easy to work with--I don't mind their monthly invoicing arrangement. I'm disappointed that they lowered their fees so much, but I think they will find that they're getting what they're paying for and will come 'round.

I questioned them if they were lowering their fees because of being in trouble they said no.

"I questioned them if they were lowering their fees because of being in trouble"

Do you really think they would tell you? Do you think that they would even know? Rank and file employees are the last to know - they get the news the same time as everyone else. Then there is that loyalty issue - their loyalty is not to you, but to their company. Why would they tell you anything but what they are told to say or do?

I am not getting the same volume of calls. They have not lowered their fees for me..I don't mind the invoicing as I know they will pay.

I used to do 11 - 13 signings a month for them. They called me earlier this month to let me know of their revised fee structure. They said I would need to agree to $55 for email docs to continue to get work from them. Of course I adamantly refused to adjust my fees at all. I got 1 signing from them this month (for my usual fee). I don't know who is agreeing to their extremely low ball fees. I'm not budging. It's not worth it. They will soon find out they are getting what they pay for with inexperienced Notaries that are willing to work for nothing.

Unfortunately, I don't think that's true. They also called me a few weeks ago and only asked me to adjust my fee by $10. I obliged as they pay a very good fee. There aren't that many SA's in my area and most have been around for quite awhile and are experienced, but someone must be accepting the lower fees. Again, I stress to those NSA's in my area, we are few here and don't have to accept any lowball fee, whatsoever. Work smarter, not harder.
