Are you getting offered different printing amounts depending on the scheduler? Sometimes without even asking? Some will offer $15 others $25?

Whatever you do, don't get on any forum stating that it only costs $5 to print two sets of docs. This leads to.....

lower offerings. Expense only offerings, no labor involved with the equipment. etc.

No don't do that...lie so that other signing agents

continue to think that it should cost them $25 to print documents and not seek more cost efficient processes.

Hey, mwm - I'm with you on this one. But, printing is a

profit item for us. With rates being offered lower and lower, leave this one alone. I have costs like yours - my last 2 cases of paper cost me $4.07 for BOTH. But, like a store, I have to think about replacement cost - not what I paid for what is on my shelf. Totay's prices are much higher due to gas prices and shipping being passed on to the consumer - all included in the cost of the paper. What once was normal to get 2 legal, 2 letter cases (about $100 s/h included) is now just for 2 legal, with a lot of searching. Not getting it to my door except with my back these days.

If people get hung up on super bright or recycled or organic, that is fine with me. Does not fit my business model, as I see does not fit yours. When my next paper gets here, it will not be at yesterdays or todays price and I may have to adjust my print cost.

I also do not have a trained monkey to watch my printer and make sure it doesn't jam, run out of toner, streak, paper fly around the room because of humidity, etc. and take care of these problems if they should arise. Wish I did so that I didn't have to watch and do these things. But I am it since I really don't want one anyway.

Another thing I have learned in my many moons on this planet: you cannot save people from themselves.

I couldn't agree more that printing is a profit. I make a nice profit on the printing...apparently more than many and I'm just fine with that. I was simply addressing the original posters invitation from the other message that if anyone felt his figures were off to please speak up. I stated that if his raw cost to print docs was $25 then it was too high. Then as usual people start posting without reading the entire thread and make assumptions and so on and so on and so on. Different day, same ****.

Yes. That is happening to me too. What is up with that?

Just thought of something. Some of their schedulers work from home, and get paid for the ones they schedule. Others work in the office and get an hourly. I was thinking maybe the ones that work from home go ahead and give you the $25 because they are afraid you won't take the job. The others don't care since they are getting an hourly. Just saying. I don't know.

Put the copy on a CD to give to the borrower.

Copy on CD - if allowed by title/SS AND

acceptable to borrower.

I'm seeing instructions in many packages that signers are to get paper copies - not CD's. And in my neck of the woods, believe it or not, I still have signers who do not have a computer. So they'd need to be amenable to the CD, AND their computer be able to read it, before that would work.

Depends if it's a SL or NL scheduler

NL pays 25, SL 20 print fee to me. I just adjust my fee to make up the difference.
