What would you have done?

I accepted a signing from a scheduler I could not completely understand. I was in my car on the cell phone and in traffic. When the docs were printed out they were from Genune Title, Mr. Slo pay. I called back and said I would have to cancel because it was difficult to get paid by Mr. Safir. She said she would overnight the money the next day and I said no but I would accept a credit card payment now. She said no and hung up. I checked NR and Genuine still had only 1 star. Your comments please.

They also called me on Friday to do a signing for today. I was also out of my office and in my car when they called. I made the mistake of calling the borrower to confirm and printing out the docs before looking them up on Signing Central. I sent an email immediately to tell them I was cancelling the signing with them because of their horrible rating and history of not paying their Notaries on Notary Rotary. Interestingly I never heard back from them. I'm so thankful for this site because with the comments listed here I'm positive I would have never paid paid. I dodged a bullet on that one! Sad to say, they will probably find someone that doesn't know better. I wish there was more recourse for deadbeat companies like this that don't pay Notaries!

I don't print anything till I speak to the borrowers and I hear is a GO. I don't even print with my established customers till I talk to the borrowers! You never know, they could be out of town, scheduler gave a signing with wrong town etc. etc. Don't print till you have:
Confirm that the client has at least 3 stars here in NOTROT
Confirm appt
Confirm names in the docs
Confirm proper IDs
Confirm Address
Confirm THAT ALL parties will be present
Confirm that the time is OK to them
Etc etc.

If this was through 3rd party you lost on money

For a fact I know Genuine Title pays SS's but not notaries. Know 3 SS's that get paid every month and on time from them. Also know never take work directly from them.

Don't work for this company. The only way I was paid is I knew a direct contact with Wells Fargo who put me thru to the direct contact working the loan. Bottom line I put the squeeze to them and told them of my direct contact, had check within 2 days
