A couple of Questions re NR

No insults please. : ) Positive input welcome.

I'm unable to reply to privates messages. I can initiate a message but, when I hit reply to an incoming msg, it goes nowhere. Any ideas?

If I wanted to change my Author identification (Eve/VA above), how do I do that? I'd like to have more anonymity. I've gone into the My Profile, Forums Alias link and not been able to change Eve/VA. Maybe I'm stuck until this membership runs out, then sign up again?

use the contact link below.

I addressed that issue and was told "that's the way it is"! I wanted to change notarysigner to my log-in name and told no can do! Maybe you'll have better luck.

As for changing your forum alias, you have to go to "Contact Us" and ask NotRot to do it - and they don't like to do it too often.

I''m not sure why you want that anonymity, and that is your business, not mine. I know I, for one, find it more professional if a poster posts with a real name as opposed to a forum "handle" if you will. Some I've seen have been very "cutesy" and in the end really sound silly - not saying that's what you'll do but...

But that's JMHO.

Good Luck.

I do not believe much of anything, one has to post if they are not willing to back it up with their name and information. As far as I am concerned it's just spam, meaningless and not worthy of anyone's attention.

I'm having the same problem since I upgraded to Windows 7. I sure hope someone has the solution for us.

Re: A couple of Questions re NR Thanks to you all!

Oh, okay, so maybe it's a software issue. I just didn't want to appear rude that I'm not replying to PMs.

I wouldn't use a cutesy unprofessional name but something that is not quite so identifiable. If that makes sense.

When posting, a drop down menu is next to 'Author' and I can choose my 'handle' or my name.
An alias has its' reasons. You don't want to see what I have to say, that's OK by me.
As to being unable to reply to a PM, not a clue.

Just gave NR a call. She's going to check into why I'm unable to Reply. Thanks again.

You can hide your address...

While in "my profile" go to the "primary address" box and where it asks, "How would you like this displayed on the website?" go to the far right and choose either "available upon request" or "display to agencies only". Then the general public can't see your address info.

Just thinking of changing my author's name which isn't that easy. No biggie. Thank you!

One thing you might want to mention to them, Eve

is you come up as "Eve/VA of GA" on your posts....they need to fix that or you do in your profile - not sure which.

Re: One thing you might want to mention to them, Eve

There doesn't seem to be a way for me to change "GA." I tried. I asked Traci at Notary Rotary to fix that as well.

I can reply to PMs now so that has been corrected.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Re: One thing you might want to mention to them, Eve

One more thing you might find helpful... When you go to post a messages, next to your "author" name is a box that says "Add link to my profile". If you want to, you can simply unclick the box which will at least then unlink you from your profile for that post so that no one can click on your name to view your profile (at least on posts made that way - until you change it back, if you want to). And if it's a post you're starting, I don't believe it will be linked to your name if someone does an online search for you.

Stipulating that is much like a guy posting a sign in his front yard warning "Not responsible if my Rottweiler chews off your right foot while you're using the sidewalk in front of my house." Good luck with that.

I have to add, HisHughness, that I like you when you're nice. : )
