BTW: Whatever happened to Victoria Ring?

Words from the “Miss Vicky” archive:

I started my first business in 1988 and the company failed financially. Over the past 22 years I have tried almost every known marketing method known to man and woman and finally achieved financial success. Through it all I learned two things that are always constant in marketing that I would like to pass on to others:

1. Never accept "no" as an answer. This has to do with your ability to never give up. Of course there are some people who will not purchase your product or service. This rule is not referring to that type of "no" answer. It is referring to not allowing people to tell you that you cannot do something and never to give up regardless of the odds against you.

2. Always give your customers an offer they can never refuse. This is not referring to a threat. It is referring to your ability to offer benefit after benefit after benefit of your product or service so that the potential customer understands they need to buy from you in order to enhance their lives.

I wish everyone reading this the best of success in business.
Victoria Ring

Good one, GG. I'll add:

3. Burning bridges limits travel. Not always, but in thinking about professionalism; manners and cordiality rule the day, and quite often, the future.

GG, you opened a door, so here's another to explore for both personal and business success:

George S Clason's 'The Richest Man in Babylon,' and its update for the 21st Century.

Same here. Regardless of her motives, that book kicked off

my NSA career & was some of the best money I spent! :-)

Last I heard, Victoria was being considered as the headmistress for the Donald Trump Academy for the Promotion of Donald Trump and the Incidental Advancement of His Acolytes.

Who is your buddy? Google is your buddy.

I met VR a few years back at an NNA convention in LasVegas where we both spoke.
We had a nice chat. i told her flat out that she had some excellent marketing ideas, but that she did not now squat about the NSA biz. I referred her to the real Victoria R, (Victoria Rivera)
who was the first (and as I recall, only ) Notary Of the Year on the old NASA board. Victoria Rivera, who sometimes posts here) wrote "Just Point and Sign" the first "bible " of the NSA biz.
The two VRs worked together for a short while, but , apparently , it did not work out.
Usually not home on Saturday nite, but my dear wife has a touch of flu.

Re: I had the pleasure.....

of meeting Bob and many more of the professional NSAs at that same Las Vegas event. My reason for going was to meet and mingle, and I did. I also was able to break bread with Mr. Bob at the final event luncheon/dinner, I don't remember which. I DO remember he had to beat a hasty exit out of town!!! I'd tell the rest of the story, but you know what they say 'bout Vegas, WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS....... Wink

Did it have anything to do with a bellhop, and a fake wedding ceremony?

Talk about a walk down memory lane, oh man! There are so many who have come, made a huge splash, and then gone, with the wind, with the Man, with a HUGE SLAM, funny...and we'll all be meeting again sooner or later.

I think the next big event is in LA...is anyone going? My cousin will be in LA for a forensic CSI conference about that time, I just may mosey on by.

The last I heard anything about her, she was buying property in southern Colorado and trying to start some sort of commune for like believers in her business opportunities, like the Bankruptcy filing program she developed. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't pop up again with some new business opportunity in the future.

Whatever happened to Victoria Ring?

Good gravy - someone asks a question and no one ever answers it. Anyway, Victoria Ring is running a business training Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants and from what I understand she has been doing quite well. She has been working with attorneys and VBA's, and a number of NSA's have converted over to doing VBA work due to the continuing high rate of bankruptcies all over the U.S. Her business is 713TrainingCom and she has been traveling around the U.S. doing training sessions at BK Attorney offices. I guess reinvention is possible if you're willing to invest the time and persevere. I believe she also has a newsletter and is also on LinkedIn.

NR folks bug you a little bit there, Ralph?

As far as reinvention, I don't think that VR ever intended to be a notary signing agent. She wrote about it.

I believe that is true with BR, as well. From what I can tell, she learns and starts businesses that how to books can be written about, sells the books, builds the training business up, sells training and books, and then may also sell the business.

Brenda just described a perfectly wonderful career, and

there was little doubt about Victoria's chances for success, so it's gratifying to hear good news. That she didn't put all of her eggs in one basket illustrates the importance of thinking beyond [or, outside] the box.

Misty's got a cab company now, as so many of the 'old'-timers have added/created myriad other streams of income. Not everyone is destined to get a job out of college, work for a company all their lives, and retire on a pension - those days are long gone.

She's the poster child for the Small Business Job Creator. We're called entrepreneurs, and it's good old-fashioned hard damn work to succeed and grow.

her latest was promoting "How to become a bankruptcy

petition preparer" or something like that. That was maybe two years ago? I almost spit out my coffee at my computer, when I read her questionable "bk educational material", as well as prayed no one else bought her crap. I'll stop here....

Victoria Ring- The Traveling, Training Paralegal

I just googled her name, found this: She's asking $850/day ( 1 day = 7 hours work + 1 hour for lunch) as a consultant.

What's wrong with that, Misty? You started a cab company.

You don't consult, so you have no idea what goes into preparing presentations.

Good trainers are hired all the time, and disparaging her work publically as something negative [which, is how your post comes across: you can't take a fee and divide by your "1 day - " formula to reach the actual value - that's not how it works,] is just not right. Having been a paid presenter, it offends me.

BTW, I hope you're hiring returning Veterans, both for the tax credits and the jobs they need.

I sure didn't take it that way;.I believe you misinterpreted

her intent. As a consultant that is only $100+ per hour, which is no where near what could be charged.

You are coming across as negative....why not be more cheerful? Catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

Of course you didn't, yet, it remains open to

interpretation.

For instance, are you a paid presenter, jba? Do you know the consulting/training biz? How exactly do you know $100/hr "is no where [sic] near what could be charged in any given small business."

I'm cheering another entrepreneur - the subject of this thread. We've read here that her work is "crap," but nary a peep about why. I'm just sayin'.

Re: Of course you didn't, yet, it remains open to

I have been a paid presenter in the past - $100 per hr. was my going rate over 12 years ago, so I would assume (I could be wrong - I have been known to be wrong) that the rate could be much better now.

If you are going to correct me, fine, but now let me correct your correction: you quoted me incorrectly - I did not state 'in any given small business." Please, strive for accuracy. Do not attribute anything to me that I did not say.

As for the reference to another entrepreneur - I am not well enough acquainted with her work to comment beyond what is obvious to me: she is smart to operate in such a manner. Start a business, develop it, catch the attention of someone who wants a turnkey operation, sell it and move on. Reinvent oneself. Great way to go. As for the "crap" - not enough info for me to deal with here at this time. Perhaps there is jealousy in that assessment? Again, I don't know.

The "crap" comment was not directed at *you*, please notice. It was a general reference to a post in this thread.

I'm just cheering on a fellow entrepreneur, not judging her products.

Not saying anything is "wrong" with her commanding $850/day.
It's more like I am saying "WOW", Susie.
In the future, please ignore all my posts, as each one seems to offend you at some level.

And, I haven't had one returning veteran apply for a driver position, however, I would gladly hire any and all who could pass the rigorous taxi driver requirements the state of FL has mandated.

Actually, no, I didn't start it.
I "inherited" a defunct cab company in 2008, and am proud to say that today it is a profitable company with a great name that has the competition sweating bullets. Smile Smile Smile
