Can't believe what my eyes are seeing
Flipping through a file here in my office and run across an affidavit - notarized by notary how? Stamp appears on signature line - no signature. Under the line, in parenthesis, it states "Print, type or stamp commissioned name of notary or clerk" - apparently this notary thinks it means stamp ON the line, not UNDER it.. So sad the attorney who signed off on the certification of service didn't know any better..
Oy...good grief.

I recently did some GNW for a company and they couldn't understand why I used loose certs to notarize the documents they wanted notarized. They showed me how the previous notary handled it - she hand wrote "I notarize this document" in very small cursive in the bottom margin of the document and then signed her name next to that wording, and put her notary seal way up at the top of the document as that was the only place with enough room.
AND she was charging $40 per notarization (for multiple notarizations) which is not legal in my state even if you factor in the allowed convenience and traveling fees. OMG

Jillian - I don't mean to be out of line, but thank you
for the laugh; I almost made a spectacle of myself - laughing so hard/loud/crazily.
