Dodged another one.
Pay was lower than my fee so I declined. Checked them out and they have a very poor rating. If I had accepted, chances of payment were slim. Thanks NotRot.

Re: ...which company was that again?
I didn't have anything adverse happen to me, since I didn't take the job. That's why I don't post the names. Most folks used to give them great write-ups but I found them to pay under $100 for several years with 45 day terms. When I searched today, 45 days was much better than they are doing now.
When companies with 3 star ratings in the past do actually improve and they treat me fair, I'll post and link to them. And yes, some good clients aren't good any longer. I'll post and link if they don't pay.
My point for the postings was to show those new to NotRot that the orange search button is a great resource. Many times it confirms your gut feeling that the answer is No -- but not always.

Re: ...which company was that again?
So why post? It's like it never happened right? No name, no acceptance, no comments?????? IMO it would add more credibility if we could see your profile, verify you feelings about the company which of course means, we would need to know the name. Again, just IMO!

you're right James....and hiding behind profiles, well most
on this forum already know my views on this and I won't get into that now...
But I agree with James.
What would have been helpful is the name of the dead beat company that contacted you. Or put a comment in SC under the company name (if they're listed) and then perhaps LINK your original post...just a few suggestions...

There are lots of different reasons for posting
I got the impression that this person was just giving some props to those who have contributed to SC and encouraging others to take advantage of the resource. I think it's great to request more info and offer suggestions on how to be even more helpful, but I don't think criticizing him or her just for posting is quite warranted. JMHO.

Geez, can't you guys take a compliment?
The poster was just being grateful for the help that NotRot veterans provide. There is absolutely no need to get snarky. He doesn't have to go into the details of a transaction to express his appreciation.
Lighten up.
