Happy Holiday's to all!
I know that the following has been discussed, But I am looking for any new updated information.

Can anyone suggest a Low Cost or FREE Fax service to use?

Thanks

Notary Rotary has a free fax service but you can only receive, not send faxes. What do you need the fax service for? I have an old stand alone fax machine and I use a phone card for the few long distance numbers (those SS's that don't have 800 fax numbers) if I need to send a fax. I've had my Target 600 minute card for 3 years and still have 300+ minutes left.

Actually I currently use a company called MYFAX.
They charge 6.00 per month for unlimited INbound faxing only.
For Out Bound, I use my fax machine which has Unlimited Long distance on it & I do not pay for. It is part of the Fios package I have.
I thought there was a company out here that did In-Bound for Free.
Since most of the confirmations are now E-Mail, using an Inbound Fax is not worth paying for.

But, it is good to have an In-Bound fax should the need arises.
Walter.

And should add here....IME my need for fax

capability is slim to nil these days - thinking the fax machine has gone the way of the dinosaur.

Yes, you heard right.
At a time when faxes were the norm it was a good deal & I just let it ride.
Now, most comunications are done via E/M , sit it is time to let the faxing go, But I would still like to keep the option for the few that use a fax.
But I do not feel that I have to pay 6.00 per month for that.
Walt

Re: You pay $6/month for the privilege of RECEIVING

I went through the same thought process early this year (or thereabouts). I let go of my efax and switched to the free email available here from Notary Rotary (just so I could say I have incoming fax capability). I think I've received a grand total of one or two faxes since then, so I haven't missed it at all. (I do have outgoing fax capability in my office.) The $6 per month will buy you a couple/few cups of coffee a month, depending on how fancy you like it. Wink

I haven't sent or received a fax for well over a year.

The NotRot incoming email fax works just fine for me, coupled with my scanner for outgoing docs. The fax is going the way of vacuum tube radios, dial phones, eight tracks, incandescent bulbs, the Edsel, and waiting till marriage to have children.

MaxEmail Lite - $15/yr. incoming only

Haven't used it for this business in years but it does come in handy enough to just leave it ride.
