Florida notaries - Atlantic Bonding is no longer in business
They are no longer listed on the Governor's website and I have spoken with several notaries who submitted their paperwork and check (which was cashed), and they never received anything.
Just an FYI to those who planned to use Atlantic for their renewal.

Thanks Robert My current commission isn't due for renewal until October 2012, but I always went through Atlantic Bonding on PAW's recommendation. Guess I will have to find another bonding agency next year - hopefully with the same good prices that Atlantic had

I used Notary Rotary for my renewal last year
The service was excellent, as usual.

Re: I used Notary Rotary for my renewal last year
I hadn't realized that NotaryRotary did the renewals for Florida.

You get what you pay for
I have found that the less you pay for your commission the more tacky your stamp imprint and the more unprofessional the bonding agent.
Teresa - what does the NR renewal package include? The website only says it "includes everything you need", but what I think I need may not be the same as what NR thinks I need.

I paid $99 for the following:
Florida Notary application fee $7,500 Florida Notary bond VISION Clarity Florida Notary Stamp Modern Journal of Notarial Events (softcover) Notary Rotary Membership Certificate Free USPS Priority Mail Shipping
I also bought an extra seal and an embosser along with the ID checking guide. When your order reaches a certain dollar value, you can choose free gifts. I ordered one of the personalized self inking "Artistic Stamps" and gave it to my Dad as a birthday gift.
I applied 2 months prior to my commission expiration and had my renewal within a month.
It was quick and easy. Once I placed the order here at Notary Rotary, the application was emailed to me. I filled it out (a fillable .PDF form) and printed it so I could sign it, then I scanned and emailed it back. I may have also sent the original application back by snail mail, but I can't really remember.
I highly recommend Notary Rotary for Florida notary commission renewals and notary supplies in general.

I don't think my stamp is tacky at all..
and the price you pay has no impact on the validity of your notarization...
For as much as I use my stamp now I got what I needed at a price I'm happy with and my stamp looks just fine. However, I admit had I known NotRot did the renewals I probably would have done it through here.

To each his own; what I might think is a nice stamp imprint
and what you think is a nice stamp imprint could be two very different things.
Personally, I would use Troy Fain over Budget Notary. Just my preference.

Re: I didn't realize NotRot had it either...I renewed last
Budget - 4 days from my out box to my in box. They are in Tallahassee and literally walk it over.
Several impression styles to choose from - I'm happy....plus cheapest on the block.
