Lots of printer issues today
My Brother 8860DN dual tray is beginning to have problems printing on legal size only. I can't print a loan package in the last week or so without about 2 pages getting jamed (could be front tray only, or both front and back of printer.)
I thought it might be the paper so I bought another case of legal from Sam's and it is still going on.
Do I need to do what Glenn said in another post, that, the printer should be taken outside and cleaned out or what?
Also, the duplex feature jams and I haven't used it in months on letter or legal. I have 2 printers and the other Brother doesn't have a dual tray. Any suggestions?

Well, you will soon have another printer that does not have these problems.

Try going into your preferences and reversing which tray contains what size paper. In other words, make your letter tray legal and vise versa.
Don't ask me why, but it sometimes temporarily works (computer voodoo) , but it sounds like your rollers are dirty and need cleaning.
Paper at Costco and Sam's doesn't seem to be the same quality that mainline retailers carry.

Thanks for the good advice. I will switch the trays after I reinstall the printer. I think the rollers are dirty and this seems like a perfect job for one of my sons over the holidays. Happy Holidays!

Thanks Glen
The rollers were really dirty and that solved that problem of the pages having a black smug on a line on the document(s)
One of my son's will be responsible for blowing the dust out of the printer tomorrow before they open their Christmas packages on Christmas Eve! Cheers & Happy Holidays.

I had a similar issue. I deleted the printer from my computer. Restarted it. Reloaded the printer software and bam, it began working properly.
