That's when it's being "observed", but it is a Federal
Holiday?

I'm going out on a limb here - but I believe that
Christmas will be observed on Sunday, December 25. Just ask any kid if they will wait until Monday.

okay I just posted on another similar post...here it is....
<<*** December 25, 2011 (the legal public holiday for Christmas Day), falls on a Sunday. For most Federal employees, Monday, December 26, will be treated as a holiday for pay and leave purposes. (See section 3(a) of Executive order 11582, February 11, 1971.)>>

If memory severs, our beloved and much missed PAW
posted here , and on other sites, that when Federal Holidays which are celebrated on the same date each year (eg. 4th of July, Christmas , New Year's Day) fall on a Sunday but are observed by closing Federal offices and the USPS on the following Monday, then the Monday DOES count as a business day. for loan recission purposes. Paul and I went round and round on this for a while, but I finially agreed with him. However, most lenders are treating it as a holiday for recission purposes, although , according to Paul, they are NOT required to.. I makes more sense to me to treat the Monday as a holiday for RTC purposes, as the borrower, if that is the last day for recission, would be unable to have a notice of cancellation of the loan postmarked on that date, as the USPS is closed. Someone more adept than me, can search for the old threads. It would probably have been during the last year that Xmas fell on a Sunday.

No
The federal holiday is 12/25; 12/26 is a holiday for federal employees, but it's a business day for the rest of us.

Re: No
Just received docs for Thursday AM appointment - RTC expires on 12/26 - I double checked and they said this is correct. Some lenders are giving the extra day, some aren't.
