NAME NOT APPEARING IN OKLAHOMA CITY SEARCH
I live on the border of Oklahoma City and Moore, OK. I live in Oklahoma City and here's the issue. When a company types in OKlahoma City my name does not appear. So I asked why and I was told that I live too far from the center zip code. If you type in Moore, OK my name does appear. Moore Oklahoma is a very small town and isn't well known in searches like Oklahoma City. How can I get my name to appear in the Oklahoma City search? Any help would be appreciated, I'm losing a lot of money due to this system issue.

I think the only way to accomplish this is to change your zip code to the zip code of the preferred area.

I tried that and here's what happened. I changed both the primary and mailing zips, and it worked. So I thought, what if a company uses that zip code in the mailing portion. So I kept the changed zip code for the primary and changed the mailing zip code to the correct address zip. When i went back in my name wasn't appearing. So I went back again and tried to change the zips to the ones that worked in both areas and it wouldn't appear. So now I'm back to square one. If your a Notary and you've paid for service your name should appear in the city you live in. I live in Oklahoma City and my name only appears in Moore, OK. I've addressed this issue with Notary Rotary and they say its based from the center point of the city. Ok, so is there a way to get my name into the city search where I live, can I upgrade my membership, still no answer from them. I'm losing a lot of money because of this.

If I were you
I would change both zips to accomplish my goal of acquiring work in a certain geographical area. Once hired, give the hiring party your "mailing address" to receive postal mail. I had this issue at one time, and resolved it the way I've outlined to you.

All of the searches are based on the geographic center of each zip code rather than exact location. A lot of us have similar problems.
Example: Try zip code 93535.
That pulls you to an area that is not terribly populated. The majority of people living in that 200+ sq mile zip code live to the very western edge of it, yet a zip search shows the notaries as being 12+ miles away. Yet, someone who lives in the 93535, right next to 93534 may be less than a mile or two away, but the search shows 15+ miles. It is entirely inaccurate.

I don't have my address showing on my listing because I don't want people showing up at my door for Notary work. If you hide your address then you can put in the zip code that will get you listed where you want. I always send an invoice with my correct mailing address after I've completed the assignment, no matter how many times I've worked with the company.

I'm with you on that, but there is an option on your notary profile to display address to agencies only. So a company would have to be registered with NotRot and signed in to see it - the general public cannot see it.

It worked. I deleted my address and just provided the city and a zip closer to the city and I'm appearing in the Oklahoma City search. Thanks to each and every one of you, I do appreciate the advice. Happy Holidays.
