New worst signing ever -
The real estate broker who never saw all these forms, where did these come from, I never saw such - these are new....blah, blah, blah. I'm not signing that - call to LO. He has to ask someone - will call right back. Yeah, in 30 mins. I can tell he is only a salesman....no more than.
We keep signing, but the reject stack is larger as the days go by (yes, it felt like days). She tells him I won't/can't explain the figures (no, I can't say how or where they got those numbers), yada, yada, yada....my head is sore from beating it on the edge of the table.
Plowing through 150 pages - Hold Harmless? you have to be kidding me - why should I hold them harmless - what if they don't pay you and everyone else - they have responsibilities ...another call - more discussion of semantics.
All the numbers I'm given don't answer - who cares? My phone is dead - her cell phones are dead - something wrong with the green-orange sky blocking transmissions - nothing works in this dead zone. Finally she relents - lets me use a phone because I have an 866 number....OMG - my ears are bleeding....
But I reach the Asian guy from TC - minor accent I can understand - he is nice, tells quick responses for the entire stack of rejects, which I relay as they are given and then she SIGNS them all. He is her post closer/processor and I'm in love once again. When she begins to stall, I tell her to just sign - just sign I don't want breakfast here.
To be fair: she has been in the loop of a bad broker, who lost paperwork, lost her rate lock, lost her favorite cat. She is just returning some of the hello she has been given. I resemble a victim to her as I am still limping and dragging myself around - I can't jump up and run so I am it. I am getting such a good fee I am rooted to that spot. She knows somehow.
To be safe, the next 1009 I see with "broker" as occupation I will probably be sick and turn it back. Give me an accountant. a lawyer. a teacher.

The closing was not funny, but your humor was!!!
I closed a cash purchase 2 days ago with the real estate agent present. The agent wanted me to sign the HUD as the settlement agent. I told her that I am not the settlement agent. She accepted my answer but continued to gaze at that signature line and finally put it down. I had this same thing happen about 2 years ago at a closing with about 7 people at the table in a RE office. The agent all but demanded I sign as settlement agent and said that other agents had signed in the past. I finally had to get the title company on speaker phone to correct the agent.

deed of trust, the Mother! She looked as if she was going to kill her kids once I left!
Next signing, a Provident,....with two Attorneys, I wonder what their definition of UPL is,...hmmmmmmm!

ha, ha, ha....I had one of those yesterday with SRVP of wealth management of huge bank. He was 25 minutes late, he wife was prompt, we went through the documents she could sign without him there first, and still waited and waited. He did not apologize for being late, and he was grumpy. He questioned every charge and made changes to the escrow settlement sheet, which was fine, and before I could get package back to escrow, he was on the phone haggling over some of the charges, trying to get discounts. Guy makes qtr million a year. Oh well, every little bit helps I guess. His interest rate was 3.75%. Maybe he's not getting a raise this year due to boss company not making any profits.
It just takes one of these to ruin your day, I had 10 appts all day, he was a PITA. Had a great day before and after. Hang in there.

Love the "I don't want breakfast here" line... I think that's going to be going through my head from now on every time I get someone who is signing at a snail's pace. I share your pain, though. The ones who think they're going to revise terms of the documents - or worse yet, think the docs were written specifically for their transaction and want to question every item - just make me want to cringe.
