Safir/Shannon
Took a call for job while on the road. Didn't hear the name of the company and Shannon sounded frantic. She said signing could be done with client for whatever time we worked out. I advised her that I was booked tomorrow and would do my best as long as docs were sent to me tonight. I got home, saw who the signing was for "Safir" OH NO! Not again, I was burned once....once bitten, twice shy. I email'd her and declined the signing stating that I couldn't fit it into my schedule if docs were not received tonight. I also stated that I have had previous experience with their company and never got paid. I suggested she contact a notary that has no signings to do tomorrow. I felt bad for not wanting to help her, cuz' that is kinda' the type of person I am...but you know what, you couldn't pay me enough to want to do a job for them and end up not getting paid anyway....kinda' a dur moment.
Hopefully if enough of us say no...Safir will go out of business.
Happy holidays everyone! Thanks for listening...

Thank goodness you were able to figure it out in time. Same thing happened to me with them. I don't think she says the name when she calls. She kept emphasizing the client's name....not her company name.....and that docs were ready now. I accepted the job and then when the e mail came I saw that it was from Safir and already knew from reading this forum that I couldn't go out on that closing because of all the non payment issues. I called her back right away and very politely told her that I would absolutely love to help her out, but Safir had horrible comments about non payment from so many notaries and I just couldn't take a chance of working for free.

She called me a month ago. She begged me to take one. offered $175.00. I said no. y'all donot pay. She said 'but we always pay you'. Also had calls from AFA and two others who have payment issues. wish they would resolve their issues. they should pay all back fees to notaries with extra money. lots!

I Love Love that idea, if they would pay us what they owe us, they wouldn't have a problem!

Good for you because they are very slow to pay & we shouldn't have to continuously follow up for payment once our assignment has been completed. If I were to ever accept another assignment from them, they will have to pay me beforehand via paypal. All notaries should request that from this company & all others who have a poor payment history & then we will see which companies are serious about staying in business.

I have a call now from this lady and I first said I would do it until after seeing these post. I have a payment issue also with Notarieswilltravel. They have not paid me to date. From now on, I am only accepting clients who will pay upfront.

Keep the number for your local food stamp office handy; you will need it.

How about we not take ANY OF THEIR closings and PUT THEM out of business? This way maybe these title companies will use reputable PAYING SS's.
The fact is, that those of us informed and lucky enough to know to get paid in advance will get paid, but how about all those other poor unsuspecting notaries that don't know better? I know I would never want to be left out to hang if it could have been avoided by us all working together to allow these nonpaying SS's to hang THEMSELVES and not US!

Shannon always sounds frantic when she calls. I don't know whether she is nervous on the phone or just plain frantic. These folks used to pay rather quickly, but recently have required some follow-up emails to get paid. My most recent job for them was paid in about 40 days which is not unreasonable so they may be getting better. The nice thing about them is they do not do any hand-holding. They send you the docs and let you do your job. I'm hoping they might be on the road to staying current with payments. We'll see how long it takes to get paid on a recent job I just closed.
