They have been paying me within 7 days of invoice. I have been invoicing well over $500 on the last day of each month. This is not to say that I havn't had problems in the past with late payments but I have always been paid.

I don't think either you or DHartley PA...

...will win any friends on NotRot by taking work from that outfit. All you have done is keep them in business to keep screwing <other> notaries.

I understand that everybody has to run his own business the way it works for him. Just don't expect any warm attaboys from me, or from many other signing agents, when you post that YOU have gotten paid. You are far and away the exception, not the rule.

TELL IT LIKE IT IS HUGH!!!!

And good luck to those that follow and get Scre*ed!

These companies aren't going to bite the hand that feeds them (I should HOPE), so if there are limited notaries in a specific area, it goes without saying that you'll be at the top of the long list of notaries trying to get paid.

I say please come back and let us know we were right when you DO end up getting scre*ed!

Too many bad reviews in Signing Central and too many fellow notaries that didn't get paid for me to take a chance with this company.

Maybe the notary community's refusal to work for

them because of their payment issues has caused them to change their ways.
Let's give it time to see if it continues.

Re: Maybe the notary community's refusal to work for

Or.....maybe it's because there just isn't that many notaries. I looked at the zip codes and there's less than twenty notaries in a 30 mile radius. My zip for example has more then 700..I would say in an area where there just aren't that many notaries, they had better pay them.

On a positive note, as you mentioned, maybe they're getting their act together. Personally, not paying a notary anywhere tells me to turn it done...a Notary must be paid!

Re: Maybe the notary community's refusal to work for

One of the posters is in MA, same as Genuine/Safir. They probably get paid because it would be much easier for them to file a small claims suit. I too refuse too take any signings from them after a bad experience getting paid.

I have linked your post for you. It helps if everyone remembers to do this. All posts about a company helps all of us, in deciding who to work for. It is easy to miss, a thread, when researching, if it is not linked.
If you don't know how to link, just ask Smile

I work for those that pay me what I ask and who I know will pay me. In the last three months I have billed Safir Signing over $3000 and I have recieved payment for all of this work within 7 days of submitting the bill. I would be a fool to turn this down when I have to wait for most companies 45 to 60 days to get paid. We all run our businesses in the manner that is most productive for us and we should not be slammed by you for working for a company just because you wouldn't work for them. I am profitting from all the notaries that refuse to work for this company because I am getting their work.

Re: Reply to Yowheelz

In the business world, when a non-union worker crosses a union picket line, they are called "scabs."

You are certainly correct; you have the right to conduct your business as works for you, as I specifically noted in my initial response. And I have the right, as do the many notaries whom Safir has shafted, to regard you as a scab.

Clarifying Hugh

As I read it, His Hughness did not say he was slamming you for working for a company that he wouldn't work for.

He said you are working for a company that is famous - no, legendary - for screwing your fellow notaries and that none of them would be impressed with your arrogance about you getting yours while so many of them have gotten and are getting the shaft paywise while notaries like you do your best to keep these bums in business ...

Then (this is me talking) you rub their noses it in with: "I am profitting from all the notaries that refuse to work for this company because I am getting their work." This statement proves (as if we needed further proof) that you have zilch compassion or respect for others, not to mention you clearly have no idea the real reasons you are getting paid.

One reason you are "profitting" is because he has screwed so many other notaries that he can't find anybody else to work for him. If he were paying his notaries they would continue to work for him, and we wouldn't be having this discussion. And you wouldn't be gloating about all the work you get from him. Duh. It is no fluke he pays you and not others.

LMFAO!!! There are only SIXTEEN Notaries within a 30 mile

radius of you YOWHEELZ!

lmao...you obviously think way too much of yourself. It's NOT YOU he's paying, it's his electric bill, mercedes car loan, mortgage on the mansion, mortgage on the 2nd home...

OH WAIT!! Your fellow notaries that aren't getting PAID are paying those bills!!! YOU'RE KEEPING HIM IN BUSINESS so that WE CAN PAY HIS BILLS.

It has nothing to do with compassion. It's about ethics and integrity. Clearly these are qualities that you have somehow come to disregard. I don't know, maybe you never had any?

I know it's difficult in these times to turn down business, but if you think about it, in the long run, if they are no longer in business, there is always going to be someone to take over. Hopefully, THAT company will be reputable, honest and have some sense of decency.

This is not about competition here! You don't HAVE any. I wouldn't get quite so full of yourself. Soon, a newbie will come along and snatch that right out from under you.

After all, you lose it, the same way you get it.

Just one last thing...when it DOES happen (I said WHEN, not IF), PLEASE come on and let us know...someone here might need a boost to their ego saying how THEY get paid (for that moment...)

If you are located in a rural area and one of a few notaries servicing your territory then you'll be needed again soon, so the SS is foolish not to pay you promptly. Those in saturated cities, where there's a larger pool of notaries to stiff aren't so lucky and have to fight for every crumb. Location and size of notary pool is KEY when a few notaries get paid, but most don't. Of 20 posts on the issue, fifteen notaries did not get paid while five did.
