All dressed up and no where to go...
Second signing today that's being canceled....no docs.. and I'm just getting over ahead cold. This week has been a strain - one of my better rated companies asked me to do a signing - overnight docs - for only $60.00!! In the past they've always met my fee, but this time they didn't call back. Instead they hired a NSA in another county to drive the 30 miles over an icy mountain for this signing that was only a few miles for me. I can't believe this notary did this for the fee they quoted me. I happened to know the borrowers personally, and they had called me to ask why some notary from Kelseyville was driving over to Cloverdale when I'm right here....
Anyway - I'm tired, frustrated, and all dressed up with nowhere to go....but I really do love this job...

I love doing signings, too....but this business of the signing agent working her way DOWN the ladder of success is just pure crap. Two of the companies that I considered top notch reduced the fees they offer to me, and I just won't accept a pay cut for the same (or more) work. $3+ a gallon for gas and they think I'm going to cut my fees? When donkeys fly.

I feel for you. Hang in there, do not reduce your fees and get better soon.

Your doing a good thing, IMO, by sticking to your fees.
Let the other SA drive and realize that the money offered is not worth it in the end. Not wishing it on them at all, but should they have an accident while on a job that pays an insulting amount (from the amount offered to you) they might realize that they are not charging enough to cover expenses and their time yet alone being able to have money to replace equipment as needed.
