I believe its a minor stoppage, and it depends on what side of the country you're on. I've been getting calls like nuts lately, some good, some very very low.

Try revving up any websites you may have, resend website info to google, yahoo, and the like. Revamp keywords on your site as well.

I know some loath craigslist, but I get LOTS of general notary work from posting ads, in various sections (do this once a week).

Hang in there John, its going to pick up for ya! =)

Fortunately business in my area is very good both for me and other notaries in my area. Expect a slow down soon due to rate increases. Our area is now at 5.1% according to the morning paper - I do think that will impact us within the next week or two.

Business stopped this week - its like someone turned off

Keep in mind it typically takes 45 - 60+ days to turn a refi around. So the loans closed this year thus far were originated over the holidays. My business has finally started picking back up a bit. I'm anticipating a good month end, a much better Spring but expecting things to slow during the Summer and the rest of the year with the rates creeping up.
