Everyone stay home & be safe. This storm is going to cover
almost 2,000 miles. It isn't just about the amt. of snow, but ice & winds up to 75 mph. I've seen some news clips & have a hard time believing people are crazy enough to be out in it. I know Chicagoans are used the tough winters & wind off the lake, but this storm is something else. The temps alone are going to be tough, and it will be brutal for those who lose power.

Fizzled out in Detroit
Not even close to the dire predictions. Maybe 5 inches of snow, BUT is a dry snow and it is reblowing where the road crews plowed.

Re: Fizzled out in Detroit
I am in Southern IL considered part of the St. Louis metro area. I am just south enough (23 miles) of St. Louis that we didn't get much at all. We got about 1/2 in of ice and about 2 in of snow. We are very very lucky.

got more out here on the W side
I watched 7 deer go through the field behind me this morning, up to their knees. My husband - vigilant public worker that he is - got stuck maybe 100 feet from the house, had to have people push him out (I was oblivious to his misfortune, fortunately - and he did make it into work).
I think in general we probably hit 8 inches here, but with a lot of drifts. I've procrastinated all I can ...going to go fire up the snow-blower for the first time this season.

Western WI just got winds so the roads are drifting from the 4" we got on Monday. Now eastern WI is a different story. Miwaukee area got socked.

Hey , Bonnie, want to come and shovel me out?? Six feet drifted by front door and about four or five in front of garage. Have a couple scheduled for today, but I told TCs when I took orders that they would be when they would be. They were ok with that. My youngest son owns two beautiful, Siberian Huskys. They love pulling my (even more beautiful) one year old granddaughter around in her little sled. Be safe, all

Bob, I spent 2 1/2 hours shoveling/plowing today. And, that is after I went out twice last night! The winds were brutal!! Couldn't get out the back door to let the dog out. Went out the front, could barely walk in my driveway the drifts were so high. I did take pics, my friends out in Cali, are amazed. Closings?? NOT. Canceled mine. I love those huskies!!!!
