Depressing state of affairs

When I first started loan signings 6 years ago I thought it would be a good way to supplement my retirement income and it was. This business has been very rewarding in many ways. It has allowed me to meet some very nice people from all walks of life, and to see parts of my city that I did not know exist. However, the reality that the future of this business is now for the most part bleak and the economy being what it is now is depressing. I do not know what the future holds, but we know who holds the future. I hope we all can find ways to supplement the lost of income from the loan signing business.

Yes. The future holds what we make of it, imho.

This industry was booming for so many years and people made a lot of money. No telling what will happen, but it does get frustrating when employed full time people take work away from people who do this for a living. Understand they want the extra cash, but this is what we do for a living. Is it fair? They get health benefits likely from their employer. It's a free society, but why can't they make the extra cash doing overtime?

Overtime? Are you kidding? In this economy, companies are stripping any sort of overtime or overtime possibilities.

Oh, well I used to get tons of overtime working at law firms but that was a couple years ago. I didn't know they cut down overtime.

I agree with Susan....

We need not feel depressed about our businesses. Just get up and get out of the pity pot and do something.
What's depressing is that at this moment I have a woman I hardly know taking a nap in my spare bedroom while her husband is dying at a hospice a few miles away. That's depressing! This poor woman (who is about my age) is only worried that she needs to find someone to take care of her. In 29 years of marriage, her husband took care of everything.

You are young enough to take care of yourself and find another way!

Cheryl, You are so right!

I came from a family where there was always, always, always an issue to be discussed up and down, backward and forward with fretfulness, angst and concern. Positive thinking was never modeled.

It took me 35 years to realize that it didn't have to be that way.

It took me another 10 to practice having a positive outlook.

These days I am honing and polishing my positive outlook habit. It's something that has to be done with an effort.

Being positive may not produce a brand new car out in the drive way tomorrow morning, but having a better outlook and grateful thoughts sure makes it more fun to drive that old car until the new one comes along.

Thanks for your kind message. People can be so nasty on this forum, sometime I think it's better just to read and not post.

But you're right - after reading your rants above, I totally agree with you that *you* will be far better served to follow your own suggestion (just to read and not post)

Re: I'm Someone Who Wins Defamation Lawsuits - $25K

I think this is harassment, would you like to learn about the defamation lawsuit I won last year for $25K and the way I cost the other defendant thousands of dollars? Would you like to give me a try?

You obviously lack empathy. What is that a symptom of? I think it's one of those "pathic" terms. Nice person, thanks for your wonderful support sister.

Re: Who Are You?

I'm wondering if you've ever had the misfortune in life of being the victim of a paranoid schizophrenic complete stranger? Because I can tell you you kind of fit into this mindset with your behavior on this forum today.
