Firma Signing Solutions
Just received a call from this company for a closing today. I accepted but then looked up the company here and saw they have a habit of not paying. I called them back and said I will do the job if they pay ahead of time into my paypal account. He said he would ask his manager and get back to me. He wasn't at all surprised when I said I wouldn't do it for reasons of nonpayment from other notaries. Well, I just got an email saying they will find another notary.
Gotta love it. Thanks NotRot!!

Why are you keeping these services in business. You get your money but another NSA may get burned>

You were right AS, Up North would have done it
Up North you only turned it down, because they did not jump at your request to pay you immediately with paypal. Say what you mean, and mean what you say.

Sheila, I said what I meant to say
but apparently you know me better than I do. Why wouldn't I do it if I got paid? If everybody made them pay up front, they would no longer be a nonpaying company, would they?

Re: Sheila, I said what I meant to say
These companies stay in business by paying only when they are backed in a corner. Sure, paying you by PayPal gets you your monies. Unfortunately, the Newbies out there don't have the experience so they get shafted. Result: company still in business. If the company is low pay, slow pay, no pay, then they should not be represented at all. JMHO.

But, they will still find someone to take advantage of ...
so why not take the money and run? Might save someone else from being shafted ... at least this time.

Why not take the money and run?
Just keeps that type of company in business. The "I got mine - tough luck on you" attitude perpetuates the lack of ethics of these companies. I would not be very proud if I had that type of attitude. JMHO.

Sorry, John, but it appears you missed my point.
Please go back and re-read my comments. My turning down an assignment would certainly not put the company out of business. As I said, they'll simply find someone else to shaft ... but not in the example I cited. In any case, you said: "I would not be very proud if I had that type of attitude." So, am I supposed to be ashamed, or what?!?!

Great work but please note just because someone has an outstanding review record doesn't mean they don't have problems paying. I'm withholding a bad review giving this lady a chance. She's been uncooperative after 45 days thus far. I don't want to have to unleash hell on a good record agency and be their first complaint on this site but . . . 50 days past due now.

I did two closings for this company and they paid me no problem. I did not have to call or e-mail.
