Input, please

I decided this month to expand my client base (coming up with the wherewithal for a Mediterranean cruise might have had an influence on that decision). The process has become a royal PITA, by and large.

What I am encountering is a tiresome and tiring routine of providing the same information to most of the companies to whom I apply. I have digitalized it to the maximum extent, with scans of the standard requested documents. Still, most of the companies require an original application.

I'm wondering if it would be useful to have available on NotRot a generic application that would include all of the standard information. It could be divided into segments: Experience and qualifications, fees, address and contact information, etc., so that the entire thing would not have to be submitted if the hiring company doesn't want the whole thing.

I'm also wondering if there are young, attractive and charming female NotRot participants who would take on the task of persuading Harry and/or Griff to create such a document.

And lastly, I would be interested in hearing from signing agents as to whether they think it is a viable idea, and title companies, lenders and signing services as to whether they would be willing to accept such a generic application.

No clue, Hugh, but I volunteer to help you navigate that

huge cruise ship, as I have vast experience in that particularly difficult area. Plus, I have an espresso machine...

When I was fishing for business, I sent a 'signing agent resume' with a request to 'please add me to your database' to all the fax #'s or email addresses in Signing Central with 4 or more stars. There were a few that responded with a contract to sign or just a 'you have been added to our database' email. The way I saw it, if they were needing SA's in my area, they would respond with interest. Good Luck Hugh, hope this helps Smile

When I first started I clicked on every 4-5 * co listed in

Signing Central, went to their website and signed up. Some sent me a contract to sign (most I did not sign or at least made changes to) some simply replied with a "thank you, you are now in our database" email. Over the years when I hear of a good/new company I do that same thing. When times were good I think SS and TC's were thrilled to hear from us but now that things are slow, not sure they even need new "signups" but good luck!

I think that would be a nice thing to have--at least then they'd be getting items in the same format, and we wouldn't be completing a zillion different items for each different company.

I have a scanned "Notary packet" including all my vital documents that I send with "howdy" letters to prospective new clients.

Also, as an aside, has anyone else gotten "report cards" from clients? I got one recently, and was pleased to see all 100% in all categories, but I thought that was a great idea, and I'd love to have a grading system that I can share with my other clients.

I think what Hugh is asking for is

something similar to the coffee site. I love it when I go to sign up with a company and I have the option of choosing that. Makes it much easier for me (and probably them (SS) as well).
