They just called and asked me to do a closing in the next 30 mins for $85. It is a NY CEMA and the package is almost 300 pages and they want a duplicate set for the borrower, that almost 600 pages. After paper, toner and travel whats left for us. I took them 175. Would anyone out there do that deal for $85?

Should add so not taken as price-fixing
MHO and would be MY *minimum* fee...more like $250-$300 for such last minute.
Sounds like maybe their first notary backed out at the last minute - probably when they saw 300 pages X2!!!

Re: Should add so not taken as price-fixing
The adjusted fee is closer to what I would be charging for a 30 min notice signing with 600 pages. At a minimum.
The fee offered is an insult, even with a week notice, IMO.

This company is the worst. Not only are they lowballers, they will also go and find another notary in the area to do the same job without letting you know, without notice if they are not happy with your experience etc. etc. They also lie about their reasons for anything they do. I will never take work from them EVER. From this thread you can tell what they are doing, it's rediculous expectations for low pay.
