NotariesExpress, Walnut Creek--No Pay!

Have not been paid for a signing I did for them on 12/22/10. I have been emailing back and forth with Maria at NExpress. At first I got the excuse that they did not know if the file had closed. I also was told to check my order because it states that if the file does not close, I will not be paid. This of course made me question the excuses I was given. Luckily, I have access to Title Search and sure enough I found that the documents I notarized had been recorded on 12/28 & 12/29. I scanned the documents over to Maria at NExpress and she said she would call title and let Svitlana know. That was 2 weeks ago. I tried emailing last week and did not receive any response. Just sent another email today. If they ever give you the excuse that the file did not close, don't take their word for it!

I too am having problems getting paid from Notaries Express for a signing done in December. Have left several messages for Maria on voice mail and have yet to receive a reply. Soon I will contact title and lender to see what they have to say. When I was contacted for this signing they were in a panic because 2 Notary's had already messed up the signing and the borrowers, from CA., were now in Iowa and not happy. I took the signing on a last minute basis, got it done, even left the borrowers in a good mood and happy, even though it was the biggest PITA signing I have ever done(2 1/2 hours). Now I have to chase payment? The PITA continues.

Bob, you hit the nail on the head, that's exactly why I no longer work for them, last minute signing and PITA. However, she does try to reconcile the problem once she gets wind of it.

I don't do contingency assignments. Do you accept many of these? If so how much above your normal fee would you charge ???

I had one company put that on an emailed confirmation and I just sent it back to them. If someone want me to work on the contingency of funding I want a great deal more than $125 for taking the risk....

The reviews were mixed on SC, so I took a chance. I have been paid on other closings without an issue. What is even worse is that it was a quickie, only a few documents. Makes me wonder why NExpress can't just pay me the huge sum of $45 they owe me. Now that I remember, the borrower needed Credible Witnesses and I even left the property and drove to the Credible Witnesses home! Not once did I get a thank you, instead im being snubbed for my hard work. Ok...I'm done venting. LOL

What was the outcome of the above? They called me today to do an RM. She said they got my info from ***. I asked her what they pay and she said net 30, blah blah, I said no how much is the pay. She said $90. I said, I'm sorry, but I don't do RM's for that (don't do anything for that, but kept it at the task at hand.) She said what is your fee, I said $xxx. She agreed very sweetly to it and said she'd send the confirm over.

About 20 min's or so later, she called back to say that it was put on hold and they would let me know when it was reposted. She also noted that she would keep my info in their data base.

This happened last week or the week before too. Some guy from Notaries Express called and pretty much did the same thing. Nicely agreed to send the confirm but then called a short time later and said it was canceled.

Hmmmmm, think they're looking to see who they can lowball?????? Uh, can we all say in unison?, "DUUUUUUH." Or um, excuse me, am I being a bit too cynical???? hmph, think not!!!

What are your thoughts?
