Notary Ethics training

I just got a email from "Alice Tulecki" <President@NewJerseyNotaryAssociation concerning this training. It looks like NJ is reaching out to it's notaries to prevent a disaster from happening. I think we all could benefit from this type training. Too bad it's only offered there.

It basically answers a lot of "I don't know what to do questions".

At least NJ notaries here can get some perhaps needed info?
Thanks for posting James!

I am just wondering what is covered in the training. To me "ethics" has a different meaning than "knowledge". If someone appears to be unethical because they don't have the knowledge to perform their jobs correctly, then that is one thing. But you can't teach an unethical knowledgeable person to be ethical. That goes along with morals. Ethics is nothing more than following the rules.

I was assigned a task some years ago to teach a business ethics class to new management trainee recruits. Teaching them the conduct that was expected by the company was one thing, but some of the questions that were asked were just appalling. It was pretty easy to pick out those who were not going to make it to the next phase of training. I always thought the class was misnamed. You can't really teach people to be ethical. Some may be ethical for a while because they fear losing their jobs, but that will pass as they work the system.

"Thou shall not kill" just might be one of the subjects taught but hey, it's in the bible also. I see your point!

…And I thought you were going to say……But some… thought they would simply find civic duty, politics, or government service more to their disposition.
