Speaking of Notary Police, this takes the cake

I got a call the other day from one of my clients that my seal needed to be re-stamped because they did not think it was legible enough on the DOT for an REO purchase transaction. You know how picky these lenders are now. So I went down and pulled the DOT from the pending files, and guess what I found! My seal was not that bad, but I restamped it anyway because that's who I am!

Get this! The grant deed from the REO lender to the new property owner did not imprint fully on the notary acknowledgment, and the commission number was handwritten in by the notary. Also the CA seal was only half visible, the bottom half did not imprint on the document. This was done by a notary in the office and on behalf of the lender conveying title to the buyer.

NOW, I want to see how that flies! and so I ask you, where are the notary police?
