Split signing

I have a split signing tomorrow and was wondering do you use the acknowledgements/jurats that are on the documents or do you attach your own so that the 2nd notary can use them? Usually I get the 2nd part of the signing.

I personally will use the certificate that's on the docs, and I let the second notary attach their own certificate or they can stamp the wording on with a stamp.

Be sure to cross out the signer's name in your certificate for the person who is NOT appearing before you. I will also provide extra copies of the RTC and TIL as appropriate for the second notary to give to the second signer (since the second notary probably has no access to the doc file for printing). Most split signings are for spouses, so I only provide RTC and TIL for second signers. But once, I was the second notary on a package which was overnighted to me, where the second signers were the parents, who were co-signing the loan for their son. The first notary was extremely gracious and provided a full copy set for me to give to the parents.

I leave them for the 2nd notary

if the venue is already filled in and it is the venue where the 2nd part of the signing is taking place, especially if it is in another state.

If the venue is my state (and county), I use the certs and let the 2nd notary provide loose certs or print their certs below the ones I have filled out.
