fax what????

Had a signing in Virginia Beach.. 126 pages .. After everything... All I have to do is drop off at FedEx.. I then get an email... Please ask the notary to fax or email a copy of the entire pkg back to us before putting in federal express just in case there is a delay due to storm.

The co. is up North.... They treat me good so I did it.

What would you have done????

I would have done it for the BO under the circumstances.

Faxed the package back.

if it was a good and regular client of mine, I would have done it, because of the bad weather THIS time, just to help them out. Next time I would have insisted on a fee for that type of service.

I also would have done it - with a notice that going forward, any request not part of the original order will be assessed an additional fee. I would provide a fee schedule so they would know ahead of time the fee charged for a particular request.

Totally agree. Sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet. The good companies are getting more difficult to get. Keep the relationship going.

Special circumstances, so I would have done it at no charge. I would make it clear that this was a one time deal, however - going forward, we would need to discuss the cost of faxing an entire package.

Give them an inch, they'll take the entire lower 40 acres if they can...

Everyone seems to agree that they would go ahead and fax the entire package at no extra charge this one time....since it's a good client.

I've gone above and beyond for my good clients....and you know what? They never remember. They'll still throw you under the bus if they need to.

I'm not sure if I'd have done it at no extra charge or not....because I've to realize, there really aren't any good companies.

Julie
There are good companies out there. I am lucky to have some real keepers, one even gave a generous Christmas bonus!

agree with you Julie, I think I

would have asked for their FedEx acct # and gone over to FedEx/Kinko and had them Fax it to them, on their dime. Business is Business and if there's a special request..you pay for it.

I have to agree w/ you on that one - no matter how good YOU

are, at moment's notice you're under the bus. This is a business - can I just stop, fax, & drop a pkg & leave my other clients in the dust??? Unfortunately, noooo! The exception to most of these rules seem to be First Prefernce Signings (they a truly a CLASS ACT). Susan would NEVER ask a notary to do something so ridiculous w/o pay. She is professional enough & has a good enough rapport w/ her clients (and DECENT clients at that) that they know: extra work = extra pay! We had a bad ice storm last wk & a cliient of mine had to pay $76 for a $15 regular cabfare. That's life & business!

haven't read all the posts yet, but I would've asked for

a confirmation on a nice fat fax fee...especially if you're going to fax it via Fed Ex where they gouge the prices per page for faxing!

One night, before I got a new fax/scanner, it took me two hours to fax an entire package. Escrow had called after the borrower signed and told me they had to have it faxed that night. That was the last time I agreed to do a whole package fee free!
