CA network and Free Notarizations Tuesday?

Are any of the CA posters here participating in this? I would be interested in hearing how this worked out for you. First thought for me says this might be a good get-your-foot-in-the-door pitch for some potential general notary clients, or maybe even something to consider on a regular basis for certain situations just for business exposure when media releases are sent out about free notarizations.

I'm not a member but I'm been doing free notarization for seniors on Weds AM for two years. Doing so landed me an agreement to do the notarization required by Social Services helping seniors for one particular county.

At least half of our members decided to participate in this optional network function. The key seems to be in finding places to send the press releases, which is easier said than done - even in this online world. Every community will be a little bit different and it can take a good bit of time and effort to pull it off. Some of us also had some challenges finding a suitable location to hold our event, but hopefully it will have been worth it. Like with any kind of marketing, we'll probably get out of it as much as we put into it. I have to say, though, that it's sure great to be able to share ideas, etc. with this group of very sharp individuals with such diverse skills and talents! Smile

[In case you couldn't tell, I'm a big fan of the statewide notary network concept that has blossomed from what Brenda first proposed here years ago. If any of you consider yourselves a highly experienced pro and your state doesn't yet have a network, you might want to think about starting one... Just a thought. Each state network runs theirs the way they see fit for their particular circumstances, but I believe there are certain guidelines that need to be met to affiliate with all of the others.]
