Collection for Paul Williamson

My name is Brenda Stone and I have been a poster here for a long time.

Sylvia is undoubtedly swamped right now, so I am going to get the ball moving and suggest that anyone who would like to provide funds via PayPal.com account to send to Paul's wife should send it via PayPal.com to

[e-mail address]

That's Notaries 4 paul w @ gmail.com

I thought that I would collect for a week, and the probably get the check to her on the following week.

When someone is in the hospital there are tons of expenses for the person going and coming.

I feel that this is a kindest way that to show Paul's wife how valuable that he was to US.

I know that he would be so touched it if she got an outpouring of our collective small offerings and a list of all the people who contributed (no amount listed) to see how beloved her husband was.

Your amount will be confidential, but I will list your name unless you say that I should not. I was waiting for Sylvia's input but I will go forward because people are starting to ask and want to collect. I am hopeful that Sylvia will present this money to Ann.

If you need someone to vouch for me, I think a few of the old timers will.

Sorry for the typos...

I will also keep all updated on what has come in. I will also give Sylvia the password to the account email so that she can monitor it as well.

What I would like to see is a commemorative memorial

certificate presented to Paul's wife by Notary Rotary. He deserves recognition for the vast contributions he has made to this board and to the notary community at large.

About Checks - PLEASE READ:

I will gladly accept your checks, but if you mail a check, please do not hold me responsible if I cannot confirm that I have received it.

I have no way to account for checks and cannot be responsible for them.

Secondly, I will have to wait until your check clears before forwarding funds.

I will put my mailing address in my profile.

Thank you for your thoughts, but I must let you know that I have had issues with losing mail and with collecting lots of checks for things.

I, too, have the utmost respect and confidence in Brenda...

and Sylvia too. As Paul was, you are both very instrumental and helpful to everyone on this board. As lucky as we are to have you both, we were even luckier to have Paul (I'm sure you don't mind me saying that.)

I must post our last correspondence. I'm going to do so in another post...

Received: $195

Within 2.5 hours...notaries are some of the most steadfast and generous people in the world. I will keep you posted.

I lost my husband several years ago. Knowing that so many care means so much and I trust that Ms. Ann will know that she's got a support community here full of love and appreciation for her husband.

Re: Received: $195

I just got off the phone with Ann. She is following Paul's wishes to the letter.
He wanted to be cremated with no funeral, no services and no flowers. Paul was a very private person (as is Ann)

Unfortunately the hospital Paul passed away in was in the next county and Ann had to pay extra for him to be returned to where they live. There is a major hospital within 2 miles of their home, but because his insurance was Tricare he had to go to a hospital that was a Tricare provider - and that was 35 miles away! She did have to pay out a few thousand dollars to the funeral home today. She doesn't know what other expenses she will have.
So I think it is wonderful if we can help even in a small way.

Update: Collect through Aug. 3rd

It was brought to my attention that many people get paid on the first.

We will extend the time out a bit if that is okay with you all.

I hadn't been on Notary Rotary for a few days and was shocked and saddened to read of the death of Paul. Although I didn't know him personally, I always read what he posted and felt he was one of the greatest contributors to this forum. He will be missed by everyone who visits the the Notary Rotary website. My condolences to his family and friends. RIP Paul.

Update: $1027 - 38 contributors. Thank you.

I love the idea that through your generosity, Paul's great character will keep on giving to his family even after he is gone. This amount does not include five who will give in the near future.

Re: Update: $1161 - 45 Contributors.

I did not go onto the Notary Rotary site over the weekend and was shocked and sadden to hear the bad news about Paul. I ave been a member on this site for many, many years and I can not think of any one to be as kind and knowledgeable as Paul. Thanks for spearheading this, Brenda and Sylvia. I will be making a donation and I feel the donations will reach to at least 2,000.00 with so many notaries.
To some of the newer members that did not know Paul (and on the fence about making a small donation) you can do a search and see how much he contributed to this site over the years.

Brenda and Sylvia thank you for all that you do.
I'm sure that PAW would be delighted to know of how much he was really cared for.
