I think is the one if you use it, there is a title company that it will charge you 25.00 dollars.

It looks like a legal envelope but it's expandable with

accordion folds. However, it's considered a PAK and not an envelope.

Re: Which one is that?

Shoshana, the SturdyPaks are heavier, expandable legal size cardboard packs that hold the super big loan packages. They were discontinued a couple years ago. Some companies didn't like us to use them because the paks came with a minimum fee, which was often much higher than shipping in the envelopes alone.

When they were discontinued, I actually stocked up on them and still have a couple left in my closet. I was never charged for using them.. but I reserved them for those gigantic loan packages of over 130 pages or so.

YAY! They are awesome! Last week I had a pkg of 225 pgs...I ended up putting it in one of their huge tyvek envelopes and folding around until it was tight and things couldn't shift. This is good news! (and kind of pathetic that I am so excited about it <wry grin.> )

I'm as excited as you are!!

I noticed that it was back about a month ago when I placed some envelope orders online. When they discontinued it, I complained to anyone there that would listen. Actually had an employee give me a secret leftover stash. I love them. If I have two closings for the same company in one day, they're perfect (heck, you can fit three).

Me too. So good to see things that work stick around.

And I'm thinking of a big SHOUT OUT to my carriers, bless them, every one, for the outstanding services they've provided this NSA over these 9 years.

So many Highway Hunts [cue Sylvia for video] for an Express FedEx or Big Beautiful Brown Truck before they all disappeared for the afternoon. Once they knew my car and could see the envelope on the dash, or a headlight flick, they'd pull over, take the precious completed package with a smile and a thank you. (Easy pre-hunt tip: stop by local bakerySmile I carried fresh pastries in case I lucked out - and when I heard feed-back quoting a response to a special meet-up enroute possibility: "Are you kidding, she has COOKIES." I'm proud to say, City, County, and State patrolers helped the quest on more than one occasion - it's a busy Highway, US101.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll order some. I don't like to use a Pak for those extra lg. pkgs., even though most tc's use them routinely.

Wow! You folks have gone into such paroxysms of joy over a FedEx envelope, for those of you old enough to have been around then I bet you set off massive firework displays when Classic Coke was brought back.

Re: Classic coke?

my foot...you shoulda' seen me last week when my kid brought me what I call a "Mexi-Coke" bottled in Mexico--in a glass bottle with no twist-off (have to use a church key) and made with pure cane sugar instead of corn syrup. You woulda' thought he brought me the keys to the Kingdom! ha ha Smile

Re: Classic coke?

You cannot beat the taste of that original Coke - in a glass bottle, that has been sitting in a bath of ice cubes for at least an hour. Plastic sux.

Wondering, too, what was wrong with the big plastic

or tyvek envelopes if it wouldn't fit in the legal cardboard ones. Those big plastic/tyvek envelopes were always available at drop boxes by the handful.

Re: Wondering, too, what was wrong with the big plastic

Nothing wrong with the tyvek - but the Sturdy Paks are the BOMB for the industry. Legal, gusseted, drop contents in from top - beautiful. Only drawback I could see: not reusable, but could have been made so so easily. Some didn't like tyvek as the docs slide around inside - wrinkle, etc. Since I deal with rain and moisture issues, except for that company who would dock pay if you did not use cardboard, I used tyvek almost exclusively.

Re: What's wrong? Fed Ex was loosing documents - Heads Up!

The legal size envelopes could not handle large packages and people were puttin them in anyway.
The packages would come open in transit and you can figure out the rest!

Be sure to read instructions, some lenders will still stipulate do noit use a sturdy pak or your fee will be reduced.

Happy Signings!

Re: What's wrong? Fed Ex was loosing documents - Heads Up!

That is why I always print an extra copy of the FedEx label and clip it on top of the stack of loan docs. If the package is damaged and the contents are separated from the envelope, the info is still there to help get the docs to their destination.
