It's been pretty hot in NJ!
Had a signing yesterday afternoon. The weather was 90, with 100% humidity. I walk in to the house and I thought the children had just gotten out of the shower, they looked soaking wet with clothes on. What was really going on was the air conditioner was broken AND Mrs. decided to bake a lazagna. Oh, and of course we were closing in the 2 by 4 kitchen right next to the oven! Had to be at least 115 degrees!!! No need to work out yesterday, I got it with that closing! Very nice woman, but honestly don't know what she was thinking. Friday night is always pizza night around here!!! LOL

OMG. No one in their right mind uses the oven when the a/c is out. Good grief! I thought it's been rough enough going from a/c to my hot car over & over. Tempers seem to be flaring up too. Did a purchase signing--borrower only and the sellers agent decided to get into it with the buyers agent.

I had one a week ago and borrower's house did not appear to be running the air conditioner - he sat me at the kitchen table right under the skylight - sun was shining in right onto my spot! UGH!

About 20 years ago, during my tenure at a law firm
in CT, my boss took me to a closing of a multi-unit apartment complex at a larger law firm - they sat us in this gorgeous huge conference room with cathedral ceilings - with skylights! We were there the better part of the day - when I got home that night my husband took one look at my sunburn, grinned and said "work, huh?"....

You and Philip are both first-class jerks. No, you don't even deserve that; at best you're second-class jerks. It's supposed to be 106 in Austin Monday and Tuesday. We've had a record number of 100-degree+ days this year.
I'm finding that a nap when it's 104 outside is almost as satisfying as a nap during a spring shower. Of course, at 74 it's sometimes difficult to distinguish whether I'm napping or awake, whatever the weather outside.

Well you should at least be use to it...it was the same in 1961 ( the first time I was there at this time of year) continuing yearly up to today. Who says being a jerk has anything to do with being ..ah.........what would you call someone trying to become a mushroom?

103.6 and it's not even noon yet.
Calling for 109 today, 112 tomorrow, and 111 on Wednesday. My AC went out on my Expedition so it's at the doctor today. I'd be at the doctor if I didn't get it fixed! LOL

Selling off most of the cattle herd Wednesday.
Yah, miserable. Just saw these stats today:
All of the days in July were over 100. The average daily high for the month was 106. And the average low from the daily recorded temperatures was 80.
July, 2011 was the hottest, and driest in history...even hotter and drier than the Dust Bowl Years. We're more than 18 inches down on rainfall since October.
Can't wait to head to the mountains Saturday and have a 9 day vacation from hell.
My Dad and I seined one of our ponds this last Saturday and we were able to move 26 big channel catfish to another one. Hopefully the other one doesn't go dry. We're selling off more of the herd this Wednesday as we don't have the water or grass to feed them. All we're keeping is cows with babies on them. So far market prices have still remained better than last year. It's getting pretty dire so this Wednesday's market the cattle prices may take a pretty big hit.
Good news for shoppers! Beef prices should start going down.

Re: Selling off most of the cattle herd Wednesday.
I'm moaning about our lack of rain, but it is nothing like TX....no where near the ballpark. I've been hearing about the animals dying of thirst. I hope we all get some soon - good luck with your sale. That will help your nerves I'm sure.
