NATIONWIDE NOTARY SIGNERS AND PREMIER TITLE AND ESCROW
Has anyone done a closing for either of these companies in the last 2 months which are headquartered in Providence, RI? I have not been paid for a closing I did for NNS on 5/18/2011 and I am wondering if anyone else is going thru the same experience? Per the RI Division of Corps, the owner of the title company, shows as the registered agent for NNS and her name is on all the filings as a member of the LLC, so it appears the title company owns the signing company that I am now told has closed it's doors. After 14 emails and 10 voice mails, I finally got a response via email from the title company saying all open invoices will be paid soon. HMMMM - the file funded 60 days ago so I am finding this hard to believe I will ever see payment.

Who is the owner?
Is that Jeannine or Jeanette or something like that? If it is who I am thinking of, you have another recourse.
If they are closed, don't feel you are running their name through the mud - they did that already. These people have a way of opening new businesses and pulling the scam again. Give us a "Beware of" person/people/company.

I believe it is Janine Atamian - her name is on all of the filings in the division on corporations, but we cannot know for sure since NNS is an LLC and after I called the division of corps this morning, I was told they do not list the owner of the company in any of the filings...strange..I know we do in the state of FL..

She is an attorney, but don't know if she is bar member. Worth a check to see - or an inquiry. Sometimes they don't like this type of thing tainting.....

Lisa, I seem to be having problems navigating with
google right now..
If you google "rhode island corporations" you find links to the RI website - think it's www.ri.gov - from there look for corporations or business filings and you should be able to search for both companies and get some info on them.
If you have problems finding the title company, I'd suggest contacting the RI Insurance Commissioner's office and ask them who regulates title companies in the state - if it's them they can confirm the validity of the title company; if another department they can direct you to the correct area.

The closing I performed for NNS was on 6/28/2011 and I have not been paid. The title company was New England Title, LLC Elizabeth Schumacher 2320 Congress Srt, Portland, ME 04102. The email address for NNS is not deliverable. I'm contacting the borrowers and title company.

So glad I looked at the forum!! I accepted a closing today from Premier Title and Escrow. After looking at the posts and one I had posted I realized same company!! Attorney contact is Janine Atamian for Premier Title and Escrow. Premier Title and Escrow has the same address as Nationwide Notary Signers. The person that sent me the confirmation today, her email is [e-mail address]. The phone numbers on the confirmation are 401-862-9248 cell and 401-943-8566 office. Beware!! Thank you to all the good Notary's that keep us all informed!!
