Paul Williamson - 14th September 1946 - 22nd July 2011
Tonight I lost a dear friend. The notary world lost a dear friend. Paul (PAW) passed away around 10:30pm (Eastern time). Paul hadn't been well for some time now. He was in hospital and his lung collapsed and then his heart gave out. Ann, his wife, just called to let me know and asked that let his notary friends know.
As soon as arrangements have been made I will let those of you who want to send flowers or sympathy letters to Ann the details of the funeral arrangements.
Please keep Ann in your prayers.

I haven't been on Notary Rotary for a while and cannot tell you how shocked and saddened I was as I read of Paul's passing when I signed on today. I had no idea he was ill. Although he lived not far from me I never met him in person but had the opportunity to cyber chat various times with him concerning notary issues over the past few years. He was a fount of information. He was tireless in his research and shared with all. I feel like I lost a friend. A terrible loss. My deepest condolences to his family and friends, Barbara Sayres

Like everyone else, I'm just so shocked and saddened. My heart goes out to his wife, his family, to Sylvia and Linda and all those who were so fortunate to have Paul in their life. As huge an influence as Paul had in our virtual world, I can't begin to imagine the influence he had in person.
It can't be repeated enough, Paul was the consummate professional, an absolute gentleman and a man of irreproachable integrity. I admired him, all of us admired him, and I make a personal promise to honor him with my own comparatively feeble attempts to emulate those traits. Perhaps those lessons will become the largest part of his legacy to us. And yes, Paul, you have left us a legacy that nobody would argue, and that few people live to accomplish.

In all walks of life there are leaders and followers. Paul was a true leader in the notary field and I, for one, was proud to be one of his followers. When I first got into this business I relied heavily on Paul's advice either given to me personally over the phone or by viewing his posts on NotRot. While there are some very knowledgeable notaries out there who offer some very good advice through their postings, I don't know of anyone with the in-depth knowledge Paul had. He will truly be missed not only for the information he imparted to us notaries but for who he was - a true gentleman in every sense of the word. My prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends.

Paul was a friend and teacher to all of us, and was always the "go to" guy whether the question was about notary procedures, loan documents, or technology. It sometimes seemed like there was no question he didn't know the answer to. He was always willing to help if he could, and never asked for anything in return... This community just lost one of its brightest stars.

Paul never made me feel stupid.(Long w/Bible verss included)
Even though there were times that I had a hard time knowing exactly what to do here in OK, and would constantly have to get advice, Paul never made me afraid to ask him for help. He was safe. He's left a big hole in this forum.
I didn't know he was sick, but I had already started missing him. Even just tonight I was wondering if he was sick...then I saw his name in the sidebar. I am very sad.
Death is such an enemy. I can't wait to see him again when the dead are resurrected as Jesus Christ, and the apostle Paul promised in the Bible. Jesus at *John 5:28, 29, "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment."
And Paul at Acts 24:15, "and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous."
I absolutely know that I have no say in the matter, but I have no doubt that a man as nice and generous as PAW is in the 'memory' of our Creator, and that God will have a 'yearning' for him (even more than we will). The faithful man Job said at Job 14:14,15: "If an able-bodied man dies can he live again? All the days of my compulsory service I shall wait, Until my relief comes. 15 You will call, and I myself shall answer you. For the work of your hands you will have a yearning."
Knowing about the provision of the resurrection helps with the 'sting' of loss. Jesus demonstrated many times that he could bring humans back to life. Even his own resurrection from the dead provided a guarantee that it could happen for us. Acts 17:31 says, "Because he has set a day in which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and he has furnished a guarantee to all men in that he has resurrected him from the dead.”
The resurrection is the only thing that can remedy death--and it will!: http://www.watchtower.org/e/20060315/article_02.htm
I've always wanted to meet Paul; I still hope to one day do that.
Please, tell Ann that she is in my prayers.
Warmest, Phyllis Moore--Tulsa, OK
*Please feel free to read the context surrounding these scriptures. There was no way I could provide that.
