The British were Here!
I had several signings yesterday morning, but moving around was difficult at best as Prince William and kate Middleton were in town for a charity polo event in Montecito...You can't imagine the melee in traffic conditions. They landed in a field by helicopter. It only costs $4K to be an observer of the match, but $50K to ride with the Prince in the game.
I don't move in these circles, but it was amazing how many people were trying to get in but there was no more room, so people hung out along the perimeter of the polo fields dense hedges to get a sneak peak at the match.
I was focused on not getting rear ended by oglers on the highway. What a day! They only stayed an hour and then took off for HOLLYWOOD to meet a few stars! What a whirlwind event!

Yet another chapter in your exciting life as a notary, Cheryl! My best friend's family all live in Santa Barbara and they were heading out of town for the weekend to avoid just what you described. Me, if I had $4,000, I'd be right down there, gawking and tailgating you on the way to your signings...

Your post led me to believe it was okay to post non-notary issues. Others have since complained about my post about the U.S. default issue. I see you are a long time member and your peers haven't really complained at all. Is this called selective enforcement where certain members enjoy "royal" status so to speak?

Over the years in this business and on this board, I've garnered a great deal of respect (perhaps tolerance too) by most members of this forum. I don't rant and rave unless I don't get paid, and I try not to be political....I think you've got to find your comfort zone. Why don't you just read for a while and not post so people don't jump you...I think you've got to earn your stripes and some credibility. JMHO.
Actually I didn't post non notary issues, I was really talking about incredible traffic and now I would like to acknowledge these two young people for coming to Santa Barbara and raising millions for disadvantaged children. I have huge respect for these newlyweds. Seem to have their heads on straight and so unselfish and generous of their time and what they are capable of doing for the world's hungry and poor.

That's exactly what I said about your OP!
As far as the traffic thing anyway.
