The Square

I am doing a lot more general notary work and would like to use the Square or something like it. Does anyone know what phones you can use it on? I currently have an old model regular cell phone and know that I would have to get a new phone..... I want to get the right one. I currently use AT&T.

SquareUP is only available on iPhone right now, but is scheduled to be out for blackberry before too long. I use it with my Verizon iPhone4, and I really like it.

If you want to hold out for blackberry or Droid, you can use PayPal on a web-capable phone in the meantime. I used that for a long time. It isn't nearly as convenient as the card-swipe, but it's pretty good, especially when the client says "I'm all out of cash, but how about if I mail you a check?" Seriously, has anyone ever gotten a check that way?

I have it set up on my Android phone, but haven't had occasion to use it yet. Seems when I got everything ready, the callers who wanted to pay with credit card stopped calling. I get cash most of the time, but am anticipating being able to offer the option.
