All Service Notary & Signings - JAN MONDRAGON
I mailed a copy of my past due invoice to the PO box she gave me and guess what??? I just got a call from the PO box holder stating the PO Box is not hers. BIG SURPRISE. I have placed a call to the Title Company the mortgages went through to try and get answers. FINGERS CROSSED! DO NOT DO WORK FOR HER! She tries to low ball you and then doesn't pay.

I tried calling her again, only get VM. Googling her: she used to be a painter. Like house painter. No longer in that business either. Then she did RM's but it appears she is no longer with the company - but we can all try them and soil her image a bit more.
I'm scared though: she has stated to me her willingness to call upon her lawyers (probably pre-paid legal policy) if I continue to bad mouth her. But, she won't discuss anything with me so what am I to do?
I know - just keep her name in everyone's mind so that when she calls, no one will be willing to be ripped off and let her know. Since there are several of us, could we all be possibly lying?

Penney, I have a new tact for these kinds of vendors on a go forward basis. I haven't had any experience with Jan in my 10 years of doing this full time. However, I've decided that as I'm discussing the order with anyone I haven't worked for before and don't have the luxury of doing any investigation while I'm out in the field and no access to notaryrotary.com's Signing Central, I will ask the vendor to send me the order with the terms of payment in their order.
If I don't receive payment in a reasonable time, as vendor promised, I'll be contacting the escrow officer immediately. I'm keeping all that information in my files from now on. I've had it with these scummy companies riding on our backs. They prey on unsuspecting do-good notaries, who do all the work. They will say anything to get you to take the job, then they fail to do their part.
I also plan to contact the escrow officer of the deal I turned back to nationwidesignings.com yesterday and make sure she's aware of Charlie's poor business practices. Fight fire with fire, it's the only way.
Lastly, I'm keeping a detailed list of names of companies and individuals in a spreadsheet, which is in my briefcase so that I can track these people and make sure I don't accept their calls/"opportunities" to get screwed by them.
There are plenty of good people out there to work for who do what they say will do. Leave the others to scramble. I'd like to see this board actively and publicly expose these screwballs.

I follow a comprehensive "record keeping" practice with regard to the information I keep on the transactions I sign ie, escrow company, escrow officer, escrow number, lender, loan broker, loan number, estimated date of closing/end of rescission period, which all comes in handy when you have non payment issues pop up.

I did contact the escrow company and low and behold, I received a call from her within 10 minutes after that phone call. By the way, if any of you need her PO box it is PO box 1655, Lincoln CA 95648. She told me she thought she had already sent payment for the December signing. I asked her for a copy of the processed check as I have never received it. She promised payment within the week. We will see.
Thank you all for your input. I will not be working for her again.
