I ended up calling the NNA to make sure I was

still certified and apparently my background check/certification needed to be renewed but I never received notification to take care of that. I have not received an email back from FASS yet, but I am assuming this might be why.

Shouldn't make any difference if you are background/certified by NNA. None of the notaries in my are are and we all get business from FASS.

They did email me back and said they deactivated me until

my certification gets renewed. Every once in a while someone posts that they still get business from FASS without it....I don't know what determines the requirement.

Maybe they are cleaning house again....they don't bother to call notaries, just drop them like hot potatoes.

Just received docs for 12:00 signing. Must be your background check. Sometimes if you try to log in too many times due to typo error you will get locked out and have to call to have account unlocked.

The FASS site will block you if your background check has expired. Happened to me a couple of years ago.

That is exactly what happened....

I lost track I didn't receive any type of expiration notice so kind of sucks that they won't call me until background check is done again.

I get expiration and renewal notices all the time - and my certification and membership with them expired 3 years ago!!...

I havn't gotten a call from them in over a week. Usally get 5-6 per day. Lord knows what that means, but can still log into the site. Just waiting for the day I don't need them anymore.
I think we are all going to feel the higher rates and lower apps. Remember, it's a few weeks lag from the borrowers app to closings and rates went up alot about a month ago.
