Business in CA must be picking up
or my venue change just expired. I moved from CA to TN three years ago. Called my fav hiring entities, reported my residency change and all went smooth.... until recently. I have received five calls within a week for signings in CA. "Are you available tomorrow for a signing in Carmichael CA?" Well, no... since that's 2600 miles from me. Is there a shortage of SA's in No Cal?

There are 4 - 5 regular posters here on this forum within ten mile of Carmichael. Maybe they turned it down.

I'm more of a regular lurker than poster, however I'm in the Carmichael area all the time taking my daughter to school (picking up, dropping off, going back because she forgot something, returning because she...oops sorry nother rant).
I know there's not a shortage of NSA's in the area. Although I'm staying with folks that are close to home now-a-days. If I can't knock on their door, I'm having second thoughts about accepting assignments from new companies.

That is why I never changed my cell #
When I moved, I also informed all the companies I worked for and many continued to send my checks to my old address? I guess we follow instructions better than they do? My cell# is not a local area code. But I figured if I changed my phone number- it would put me out of business? And yes biz was good in No Cal this month.

No shortage of SAs in No Cal
As someone already stated, the flow is steady; however, there are a number calls that go unanswered or ignored because of the hiring parties' reputation and/or fees being offered.

Re: It is very important to post correct information
in order to gain credibility here. Notaries on this site are very aware of almost everything. That being said, according to the very first page of the California notary public handbook, page 1 it says..
January 2011 Dear Californian: Welcome to the official source of laws relating to notaries public in California. A notary public is a public official who performs invaluable services for the legal, business, financial, and real estate communities. There are more than 184,000 notaries public in our state.
I think this means there are NOT 185,000 but certainly not 750,000. Just a little heads up about posting.

Re: It is very important to post correct information
175,515 current notaries currently commissioned. Numbers have been dropping over the last few years, no brainer as to why. More responsibility, accountability, rising costs in gas, etc.
There are fewer of us on the radar screen. Same is happening to loan originators, and that number will keep dropping.
