Debt Settlement Work - Columbia Law Center

I rec'v a call from Columbia Law Center to do debt settlement work for them. Has anyone in the NY area gotten a call from them? Does anyone have any signing experience with them? Any feedback would be great?

Do a search here for "debt settlement". You'll probably find tons. Most of us won't touch those, as most of these companies are praying on people who are already having financial difficulties. They usually require fees (often up-front) for services that people can get for free from non-profit organizations, like Consumer Credit Counselors.

Thanks Janet, I can't find any other information on them...think I'm going to pass this up. They want you to take a test and learn a script, etc...not worth the time. I did one about 4 months ago and it was uncomfortable and weird...not all money is good money!!!!!

Just like loan mod apps., beware those companies with "law" or "legal" in their title. They aren't usually tied to any legit law firms. I'm not touching that kind of work, either. We are asked to become a "rep" for these companies, and try to remember that you are the only person they will ever see, and the one accepting a check in hand.
