Is it worth it to pay to sign up for notary websites?

Hi. I have been working for about 4 years as a certified signing agent in San Jose, CA.
I haven't ever paid to be listed on a notary website that Title companies might use to find a notary.
Do you think this is worth the $$?
Which ones are recommended?
Which ones to avoid?
Thanks a bunch.
Julie

Yes- one site alone 29 dollars return so far 1500 since11.10

I've decide to sign up or upgrade on sites now. Most part all it takes is one closing to get the money back plus it's a tax deduction.

If you are talking about the ones that have popped up in many of our e-mail inboxes lately - "USA Notary Guide", "Locate Notary", or "All Star Notary", etc., no, they are not worth the money. The main reason being that no member of the public would ever go to one of those websites to find a notary.

Although I have my own opinion of the "numbers site" (and it is not a positive one), that website and this one are the only two where I think title companies bother to look for notaries, and they have a big presence in search engines, which is important.

That said, I do not work with title companies - I much prefer dealing directly with members of the public for notarial needs - and I get much more business from my own personal website than from online directories. However, I do have a free (non-premium) listing on this website and a few others. I can't say I have gotten any business from them, but I am not soliciting work from title companies or signing services either.

I think that having a professional website is much more important than having listings in a bunch of notary directories. JMHO.

I’d say the “coffee” site is in the very top tier for getting ‘Signing Agent’ jobs. They have many Signing Services, and Title Companies that subscribe to, and buy their software/service. BY joining them you are automatically put into the database of many companies looking for ‘notary signing agents’. As for generating part time general notary work I can’t say. JMO

Since many notary sites are free, I’d say it it’s definitely worth the money ($0) to sign up.
I say my premium membership here pays for itself many times over. I would also recommend several others, however the rules here prevent me posting this info. After you sign up here and fill out your profile, and link to your screen name members here can send you private messages with more information. I feel this is the premier site of its kind, and I’d start here first. JMO

How? You can't click on her name. Sorry for the stupid queston, but I've been a member for years, and have never sent a PM to someone not linked.

On her post, click the red button underneath the post that

says "Private Reply".

At least that's how it looks on my screen.
